The pale wheat was my favorite. My husband recommends the saison. There was live music in the outside seating area out back. They don't serve food, but you are welcome to bring your own from Saws Soul Kitchen or other take out places nearby.

As the title says, this place was great. You enter through the bar/brewing area and it smells great, since you can smell the beer. The bar is nice because you don't feel bunched up next to everyone. They also have a countertop/shelf running across from the bar with chairs where you can hang out in the bar are without sitting at the bar. Outside, they have a full covered bar with all of their offerings available, along with a stage for entertainment. They had 12 beers on tap when I visited. I liked the variety because they were all quality brews. They have a wide range and offer drinks beers that the ladies in the group (who aren't big beer drinkers) absolutely loved.Myself and the friend I was with tried their flights. I think they were $11 each. This includes six samples of either the seasonals or the flagships. We each got a different one so we could try everything they offered. They had a Strawberry Kolsch that was delicious that the females enjoyed. They have the fruity Kolsch options, a porter, a stout, an IPA, as well as a Double IPA. The Vanillaphant Porter was very good and very drinkable. I had only tried 3-4 porters before this one, but it was one of the easier drinking ones I've had. I would recommend checking out Avondale if you're in the area. I am not sure how parking is there because we were dropped off. They have a pizza place two doors down that was great also. They allowed us to walk there and get the pizza and bring it back to the bar to eat. I will be going back to Avondale next time I visit Birmingham.

I've tried 3 of the microbreweries in b'ham, but cahaba and good people's beer doesn't compare. Cool atmosphere, friendly bar staff and great beer - my fave is the spring street saison. Also, they let you bring food in from the restaurants outside :)
