We are honored that your family chose to travel with us and enjoyed a memorable experience.Our president would like to share this quick note in regards to our propane use at Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge: "When planning Kenai Fjords Glacier Lodge, it was our hope to find a site that was suitable to utilize hydropower like we do at Kenai Backcountry Lodge. However, flowing water was not available to us in any appropriate location. Wind and solar would not be feasible as well for a variety of reasons. We selected propane because we felt it was the most environmental friendly fossil fuel available to us and we do not have the risk of spills from liquid fuels. We charge batteries during the day while the generator is running and operate from battery power through the night, conserving fossil fuel and enjoying quiet operations."We will continue looking in to new and even better ways to operate our wilderness lodges to protect the wilderness areas for future generations to visit and enjoy.Thanks again!

Thank you for your feedback. We're sorry that wildlife viewing wasn't more active on the day of your raft adventure. Although the Upper Kenai River flows through wilderness areas which are home to moose, bears and other critters, it's hard to predict when they'll show themselves.
