Great place to be winter or summer. Quiet, easy access and tons of things to do. Love this area....so much we moved there ;)

Great place to camp and pet friendly. I sat by the lake for hours watching the ducks and relaxing. I felt safe camping here alone.

Loved camping here. It was set up like culdesacs, very spacious. We only had one night so would like to go back so we can explore the area some more.

We stayed here when we couldn't access Byer's Lake cabin #1 up in Denali. It was a nice, clean cabin, but I'm not sure I'd call it an easy walk in. There were some supplies, a nice big table and plenty of room for 4-5 people.

Near the Parks Highway between Houston and Willow. Also accessible from the Little Susitna River with overnight rental cabins on lakes with fishing opportunities.

This family friendly campground is state land with local volunteers as hosts. There are so many spaces that you can have your pick of the place and still feel very comfortable.

yes they have canoes to rent, like 14 of them, but the people have to be there. Apparently, there is a tendency to wander away and not come back between 11am and 5pm.Call ahead and make a reservation. Lake is beautiful and mosquitos not too bad, but take repellant.

We enjoyed the large campsites and location. The rustic public restrooms are well-kept as this state campground has a host available in the summer months. Firewood is available for a nominal cost. There is a $10 fee for overnight camping.

Although you can hear the occasional truck or large vehicle in the distance from the highway, this is a large area of mostly connected lakes where you can feel pretty isolated. We rented a public use cabin a few years ago that was a few portages into the park, on James Lake. Nice area with moose, porcupines, etc., in pretty wooded areas. You pack in, you pack out everything.

We have some friends that live near here. Nice lake to play on.
