At one time the entire town of Whittier resided in this building. You stay in condos that some owners rent out. It took a little searching to find the lady in order to check in. Once found, however, she was very friendly and helpful. Although I was NOT on a honeymoon, I was in the Honeymoon suite on the 14th floor (I think). The view of the inlet, harbor, and mountains beyond was awe striking. If you’re in Alaska, if you’re in Whittier, you have got to stay here!

This drab building is the only thing in town for the 400 year round residents. It is a post office, police station, grocery store, etc. Not worth the time to see.

After walking around the harbor where we saw a seal, we had about an hour to kill before the cruise so a local resident recommended the playground here. Someone in the building let our kids use the restroom which was clean. Then we took a short walk to the creek. A peaceful place to sit and enjoy the sunshine and kids can climb on the rocks.

We used the laundromat in the building and someone put chewing gum in our dryer. The hallways have peeling tile and dirty walls - very creepy experience.

This is the building in Whittier where just about all of the people in Whittier live. A very interesting place to visit. Store, Post Office and everything is in the building.
