Homer是一个非常独特的地方。Homer Spit长7.6公里的狭长半岛。非常值得步行。可以看到许多奇特的景观。四周围绕在峡湾及冰河高山之中。梦幻,奇特,瑰丽。

You wouldn't come to the end of the road and not go all the way to the end, would you? Don't miss the Spit, on a sunny day it is breath taking. Walk the docks, look at the shops, walk the beach, let the kids dodge the waves. You are in Alaska!

Park your car and walk around the spit looking for rocks and shells or just start a small fire and relax on the beach. Eagles fly overhead all day long. You can watch the fishing charters going and coming all day long. And then walk down to the docks and watch the boats unload their hauls from their trip.

We spent an afternoon on the spit, but not by wandering the many shops. Yes, there are many shops and restaurants to visit so don't miss them. Yes, walking along the docks and the beach are nice. Yes, the pictures of the eagles and the seals eating shellfish are all very cool, and yes, you might get to see a pod of whales swimming by if you stare out at the waters long enough. But, If you love to fish ..... then grab a rod and head down to the beach at Lands end! What a Blast we had. There is a parking area on the left near the fish processing plant. Park and walk all along that beach, as well as behind Lands End resort. We caught numerous walleye pollock, some flounder, and even hooked a silver. Unfortunately the silver won the battle. We had enough for a great blackened fish dinner, and were even able to give some away to other campers. A note about the pollock; they do have worms, parasites (as most fish do) so be diligent in your cleaning. We used light tackle with a two ounce weight and some shrimp. We also used small spinners. Throw out as close to the pilings as you can get and hold on. To hook a salmon; when you see them jumping, throw just ahead of them and REALLY hold on! Check with the bait shops on the strip and they will hook you up. There is also a snatch pond on the left, but if you don't get there early, most of the fish are gone. Check the tides for the pond, but go whenever to the beach. Very relaxing afternoon.

We have lived in Homer for the last twenty five years. We have enjoyed all of the exciting adventures that the Homer Spit has to offer. Well, except the salty dog. We don't drink! But, you will not be disappointed when you visit here. By all means enjoy a boat ride to Halibut Cove or Tutka Bay. DONT MISS IT.

Great place to visit. Lots of shopping and restaurants. Bald eagles everywhere. Parking can be a challenge, but worth the trip.

We drove from Anchorage to Homer for a day trip. It was a nice day for a drive, a little rain, but not too bad. We are fans of "The Deadliest Catch" tv show. Homer is the home to the crab boat the "Time Bandit". We wanted to get a close up look at it, but the boat wasn't in the harbor. However, the crab boat "Saga" was there. We got an up close look at it. The ship was smaller than I thought it would be. But, it was fun to see it. The Spit has places to shop and to eat. It was worth the drive.

Such an amazing view and there is wildlife that you can enjoy as well, the eagles really do have character! My daughter was laying down on the beach and inching forward to this Eagle that just stayed there and watched her as she moved closer and closer, it was unbelievable!

Best Charter in the Business, Very Friendly!!! Brian (the Captain) really knows what he is doing. Very helpful when I became sea sick. My family from The Valley in California came up and we had a fantastic time, I will never use another Charter service.

The Homer Spit has a mile or so of boardwalks linking unique shops and boat chartering operations. It is also the home of the Homer Boat Harbor which is in the midst of a big improvement project. There is now a bike/walking path all around the harbor. Wandering the harbor and watching the boats, from commercial crabbing vessels to ferries to sailboats and research vessels, is always a good way to spend some time.

The Spit is Alaska's version of Jersey Shore boardwalks. It's a fine way to spend an hour or two, especially if you have souvenirs to bring back to little ones. But don't make the trip all the way to Homer if you think the Spit might be something really special and not to be missed There are much better places to spend your time!

Such a unique pier, the way it is surrounded by both bay and mountains. The spit is home to a fair amount of tourist shopping and restaurants, but even just going for a stroll is worth the time. It's breathtaking.

This is a strip of land that extends out into the bay that has numerous places to camp while fishing and shopping. The view in all directions is spectacular with Glaciers on the mountains. It is a very busy strip of land with all the fisherman, tourists and people taking small airplane rides and boat rides, Well worth the time to explore the " Spit "

Fun and eclectic with great views. You can see it all in an afternoon. Great fishing out of here and some good restaurants. A few nice shops but pretty much a place to launch from not spend time in.

With sweeping views of majestic mountains, glaciers, the waves of the sea in an inlet, and the Autumn colors on the hill when you turn around, this town easily went into my top 3 favorite places in the world. The lack of mosquitos in the Autumn, the coolness of the air, and the beautiful colors makes it worth visiting Homer during this time. I've heard it's equally as beautiful in the summer, but there are a lot of mosquitos (except on the Spit). There are plenty of tourist restaurants and shops on the spit but they are all closed after September. If you go in the Autumn, be prepared for most things to be closed, but to get to know the locals well and to get a feel for this easy going town.
