Our hostess was wonderful. She knew her wines. The shop and the surrounding area was beautiful. Very clean and professional. The wine was a delight.

Stopped here while visiting all four wineries in Altus, and this was by far the quickest visit of the four. Very nice facilities, but the entire tasting and purchase happened in five minutes flat! Perhaps the staff had other things to do/places to be, but it felt a little weird. The wine selection is more limited here than the other wineries, particularly in the world of sweet/dessert wines, but we still walked away with a nice bottle of semi-sweet wine. Definitely worth a stop (the tasting is free, after all), but make sure you hit all the wineries in the area when you visit.

I've visited the Chateau a number of times over the past couple of years - you could say I fell in love with the place :-)They make wine unique to Arkansas - coming from Australian wine...so linked to the European varieties and methods - it has always been a joy to visit and enjoy their wines.I've seen some reviews on the Chateau and I can only say that sometimes it can get busy - the Chateau is a family run business...they don't run a huge crew. But they love to have visitors to the tasting room and try their best to give everyone a wonderful experience. For me - and this applies to any tasting room or cellar door I visit - anywhere in the world - I let go of my expectations, I appreciate the wine in my glass for what it is. Unique. If you compare every glass you consume to your 'favourite' you will miss out on so much. How many times have you thought the first glass of your favourite tastes different to the last? Don't let marketing of labels take over. The time and love and energy that goes into every vine at Chateau Aux Arc is unique. Definitely visit the other wineries in Altus - but make sure you stop into the Chateau, Audrey House has made something wonderful from a small patch of Arkansas. She'd love to share it with you too.Tori, Melbourne Australia (friend of the Chateau)

Most of the products in the gift shop/tasting room are Celtic themed and very attractive. This is a smaller winery and has a smaller selection than the others. It's the first winery you come to as you head south from the Interstate. If you're looking for dry wines, this is the best place to find them. We bought the $5 tasting goblets for their pretty etched celtic design.

We enjoyed this winery, as it was very lovely. We were able to taste all of the wines on their list. Their vineyards were right by the winery & the staff was very nice. It was a pretty small winery, so the selections were not large, but their bottling & labels were beautiful and the wine was tasty, although drier than I prefer. We did enjoy this one.

My husband and I stopped at this winery on our way up to Eureka Springs, mainly becuase of the descriptons of the wines and the photographs. When we arrived there was a very nice and helpful lady conducting the tasting. The first thing was that they are out of cab and merlot. We started the tasting and all of the wines were very tart. The sweeter wines, which we generally do not like, tended to be better than the drier wines. There is a very nice patio outside if you like their wine.

Arkansas is lucky to even have a winery amidst all the resistance from the holier than thou population. I found the dry red wines to be light bodied with a vinegar aftertaste. I'll give them 4 stars for the effort though.

We stopped on a Saturday afternoon for a wine-tasting and look around the vineyards. The grounds are inviting and attractive. The hostess who served the wine-tasting was very helpful as she talked to us about the wines. She allowed us to taste at our leisure and did not pressure us as we selected some wines to take home. We only stayed 30 minutes or so, but it was a very pleasant stop.

After visiting 2 other local wineries, my friend & I stopped in here as an afterthought on the way back to the interstate. I loved the scenery and the look of the outside. I wanted to take a few pictures and look around, but being the last place we stopped, I was tired. We were not offered a tour, but we were given the option of a free wine tasting. There were only 4 wines listed on the wine menu, one of them not being available. However, they did have 2 different years of one wine. I am a more of a sweet or fruity wine type of person. None of these wines were to my taste. I would not purchase any of their wine for drinking. I did see that they had wine for cooking so I MIGHT go back to purchase some of that. They would not get my business as a wine drinker, though.

This is the newest winery in the area. But, it has the largest number of vines. The scenic grounds are a plus...buy a glass of wine to sip as you enjoy the scenery. Nice wine.

To be completely fair, I should start with that I am not a big fan or Red Wine, and I felt that most of the wines that we tasted were Reds. The rest of the experience was really good! There was a $5 fee to do a tasting, but that included a complimentary glass. The place was beautiful vineyards and the staff was very nice. I am extremely impressed that they do every part of the wine process in house. It's a small winery compared to some of the others in the area, but very well done. I think it is definietly worth a stop if you like red wine!

Altus is a fun day trip, especially coming down from the North thru the Boston Mountains road. This winery is located North of town, pretty much on top of a hill. New tasting room well thought out and rather large. Staff very friendly, perhaps because we visited mid week and no other guests were there. Very attractive grounds with vines right up close stretching as far as you can see. Overall, some decent dry wines .. our taste tend toward dry so could not really judge the sweets. No, not Napa class but getting better each year. Don't miss the view from the church on the way up the road.

Nice welcoming winery. Very nice decor. Good selection of wines. Staff was very friendly and shared lots of information about wines and even recommended a few other local wineries to visit. This is one of the newer wineries in Altus, but we would stop again when in the area.

My husband I had fun doing a wine tasting. We went mid-week so we had the place to ourselves. It was a little out of the way but in a great way. Lovely vistas, pretty decor, and helpful staff.

It's rather sad Arkansas' wineries don't get more attention. Cannot think of a better way to spend an afternoon than enjoying the scenery, meeting interesting people, supporting the locals, and drinking good wine.Chateau Aux Arc has a nice variety of exceptional wines depending on your preference. Sweet...their signature Altage is an award-winning white blend; dry...the zinfandel and Bishop's Red are terrific; crisp whites...their chardonnay matches up with anyone. We had a great experience tasting with Chef Larry and enjoyed meeting the owner, Audrey. Take the time to visit Altus, Chateau Aux Arc, and the other local wineries.
