Lake Dardanelle State park is a man made lake on the Arkansas River with a Lock and Dam for boats to go through. They hold annual National Bass Fishing tournaments. There is a great visitor center with a big aquarium and a play ground with camping.

There is a state park in both Russellville, AR and Dardanelle, AR; two cities separated only by the Arkansas River. We did not realize there are two Lake Dardanelle State Parks until we arrived at the one we did not have reservations for.Fortunately there was an open space at the one we went to in Dardanelle and were able to transfer our payment. I must say the park system did an excellent job transferring our payment and even allowing a senior citizen discount after verifying my birth date. The park in Dardanelle is older of the two, but the sites are much more spaced out. Also all the sites have a lake view, some better than others. The rest room/bath house was very dated but clean and the park staff was friendly. We would stay again.

Just spent some time at Lake Dardanelle StatePark. On a Tuesday it was amazing to see all that is going on, all that is available for so many different interests. The lodge is simply beautiful and many live educational exhibits. Lots of kids inside who were really enjoying the exhibits with live fish, turtles, and a few reptiles. I'm coming back for the butterfly guided tour, the self-guided tree hike and the bird watching events. This is a beautiful and a great place for outdoor exploring!

We tent camped on an RV spot for one night this week. The park is beautiful and well maintained. Bathrooms and showers were clean and worked properly. Our campsite was right on the water, and had a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding hills. We will definitely be staying again.

Terrific park! Only stayed one night but we were right by the water (off season). Great bathrooms, lots of grass without thorns for your dog - v happy here!

What a wonderful site we had experienced at Lake Dardanelle State Park. AR. The grounds are clean and campsites are level. Their visitor center is amazing. We surely will stay again on our next visit Out East!

1 Camper/1 Tent/4 Adults and 4 Kids(all age 6 and under) visited this lake over Labor Day weekend. We had a blast, but then again we love camping. The brand new bathhouse was air-conditioned and stayed clean and well-stocked in TP, and had an handicap shower available. Plenty of fishing spots for non-boaters like us. Beach was clean and wide, but more shallow water than there was deep. Visitor's Center is supposed to be very nice, but we didn't get to go inside, with so much else to do.

Seems like not a lot to do there. We hiked a trail, but was not very picturesque. The park is in the river valley on the lake.

I have visited Lake Dardanelle State Park for many years! Each year improvements! This complex is as nice as any State Park anywhere. A fellow by the name of Brown put his heart into this many years ago! I meet him on a Bass Tournament at this park, found out he was the director, it was on a Saturday and he was there as a volunteer just helping the fishermen in any way he could. One fisherman forgot his extension cord and he went a found him one to use! I wish our Federal ( Corp ) tax dollars could match the work and value this State Park has. There is something going on for Children to Senior citizens all the time. The park is kept immaculate, the view is worth a million, the state staff is wonderful. Great place to fish from the shore ( the Corp likes the shore to grow up where no one can access the lake! ) Looks almost like a Bass Pro shop inside! Hands on exhibits for children, eagle trips, never ending things to do! Can not do it all in one trip! Unbelievable free stuff! Federal Boys go by this facility and take some notes! Really need more signage on the entrances! State Dollars are having to be stretched and Arkansas has done an outstanding job! Arkansas has a great Governor! Thank You Honorable Governor Mike Beebe! Arkansas has some amazing lakes and natural atractions and this state park is definitely one of them! My suggestion is to go in the fall when the air is crisp and the trees are alive with color!

The lake is beautiful...especially with the sun setting over it. The visitors center located there was neat. There are big tanks filled with the types of fish that inhabit the lake.

Why, because it costs nothing. Pull in, visit a million dollar visitor center and walk around the park. A hidden beauty!

The lake is making a strong comeback, the bass are stocky and plentiful, they can be caught a varity of ways. Softplastic tubes and craws are my favs, and dont forget the SENKO!

This was a very pleasant stop for a few hours. found the Park to be clean and refreshing. Nice area for a picnic.

A little out of the way but very nice accommodations and scenery.
