This African American school does an amazing job of telling the story of the local African Americans. The staff is very welcoming and most went to school here when they were young. You can't get a better account than those that experienced it! My favorite artifact is a slave tag they have been donated. I had not seen one of these before. If you have any time, check it out!!

The Herron Center is a museum and community center for the local African-American population and does a wonderful job of preserving and displaying the life of the community and the old building that was once their church, their school, and their gathering place.

Wonderful preservation of the African-American history in Randolph County. This organization hosts all kinds of events throughout the year including Black History Month events, Juneteenth and their annual Hog Butchering.

I loved this center, it taught me about what my mother went through when she was little. I seen, read and touched the past! This center will always be in my heart!
