We tried visiting but not open when we went. No sign on road so you have to drive all the way into the gate couple miles from main road. Disappointed no information closer to road.

I have lived in the area for over 25 years and just went to this cave about 5 years ago. I now been back a few more times with family and friends who are visiting in the area. It is not for the infirmed, but it is great for families. It is a moderate walk and tour through the cave. I have had 3 different guides and they have all been informative and helpful. Worth the time and money.

The cave itself is fairly new and so not spectacular inasmuch as formations go, but this is more than made up for by its other unique features. Besides getting to see a cave being developed naturally and learning its history, even seeing artifacts of early visitors to the cave, there are water features and cave creatures our guide carefully pointed out to us and enabled us to photograph. The guide made it an excellent tour. He was full of information and shared it in such an interesting manner and gave us plenty of opportunities to experience the cave in ways we'd have missed without him. The whole experience was most enjoyable. I've visited several caves of various sizes and types, and I generally prefer a self-guided tour, but in this instance, the guide and the cave made a combo that's hard to beat.

It his is a private cave and the owners really treat you well. We took our grandson and they were so wonderful with 5hem. They kept them engaged and listen to what they had to say and answered questions! Well worth the money!

I had to fight my wife tooth and nail to get her to go here with me for whatever reasons she had. Once I got her here, I could'n't get here to stay away, or avoid her asking when we were going to go back. It may not seem like much. One might say "A cavern tour. Been there done that, there all the same.". But in my experience, especially with this particular cavern it's different than most. Each cavern has it's own personality, life, etc. This cavern also offers a beautiful drive, and surrounding area, a place to "pan for gold and gems", including some found only in the state of AR. There is even some life that has only been found in this cave. Plus there is much local history. Specialty tours can even be arranged for the adventurous. Great time for a fun filled day with the family, friends, or solo. If it's a rainy day, that's an even better reason to take a tour of the cavern or to check out their gift shop. Lots of great things can be found inside the gift shop.

I've never been in a cavern before so this was a lot of fun for me. We happened to go on a rainy day so we got to experience the underground river and the rain finding its way through the cavern ceiling. If you love nature this is the place for you. Fun gift shop and there are some trails to explore as well.

We decide to stop on our last day in the Ozarks. Friendly staff in gift shop and informative tour guide. You will learn about some interesting people and events that took place in the cave over time. The tour was drawn out longer than necessary, not able to get good pictures because the guides keep shining his very bright flash light on what we were trying to photograph. Washed out the pictures. Fun

We took a tour through the cave recently. One of the geology students pointed out an area of bat dung and told us it was the main ingredient in mascarra. What an interesting and gross story. Is is, although, not true. Below is the correct information from en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mascara."An urban legend mentions the use of bat guano as one of the ingredients of mascara. It is actually guanine, not guano, that is authorized as a color additive for cosmetics by the FDA[29] and European[30] regulations, and it must be extracted from fish scales, not bat guano." We went to War Eagle Cavern over the Labor Day holiday. The cavern tour was informative and made fun by its tour guide Jerry. Jerry made the whole experience better by his knowledge of the area and its history.The cavern was very easy to get around in, and I would recommend it for anyone who is pretty mobile. You do have to track down those Arkansas hills to get to it, and then back up to the gift shop. The cavern itself wasn't that deep to go back into, and it didn't have incredible Stalactites or Stalagmites, or curtain formations, but it was a nice cool attraction on a Summer's day. We were told by Jerry that March is a good time to visit, if you want to see thousands of bats in the cave.My 9 y.o. daughter really loved panning for fossils and gemstones. Took my grand children here and had a great time. The cavern tour is fun and the surrounding area a treat to explore

Friendly tour guides and staff at the little gift shop! Great tour filled with info about the cave and so much fun for families. I highly recommend!

The "50 minute" tour we took ended up being well over an hour and 20 minutes; the younger kids grew restless. There is some very interesting history associated with the cave and cavern so it is worth it but there are some small entrances and uneven ground so do NOT wear flip flops and it's not for those with claustrophobia or knee problems. The kids also freaked out at the "lights off" section of the tour when it was completely dark and I thought the guide kept them off way too long. At least the gift shop items were reasonably priced.

After reading mixed reviews we decided to see the War Eagle Cavern for ourselves and we were not disappointed! Visited here on a hot Saturday afternoon in August. Purchased our tickets ($15 adults and $9 for our 12 year olds) Our informative guide was a nice young man that seemed to take pride in his work, he knew a lot about caves and did not rush our group. Tour lasted about an hour in a 58 degree cave. Felt good on this hot August day. Some areas were wet and slippery, most of the cave was walking on uneven ground. I would not recommend this cave tour for anyone pushing a stroller, in a wheelchair or disabled as this is not an "easy" walking tour. The walk back up was a VERY steep grade with several benches along the way to rest. Gift shop with the usual "tourist trap" items, bathroom facilities, soda machines. Pan for gold and maze (extra fee) which our boys did not want to participate in. The only thing I wish they had on site would be a restaurant or sandwich shop. Thanks for making our visit to the Rogers area enjoyable!

A fun stop off Hwy 12 on the way to or from Eureka Springs. It's no Carlsbad or Great Mamouth but our two pre-school grandsons loved getting out of the car for a picnic and the cave tour. The guide was a local young man who knew cave facts and was patient and attentive to the children in the group. Worth a stop if you are in the area. A stop at War Eagle Mill for lunch and a visit to the Hobbs State Park Visitors Center makes a great combo with the cave.
