My goal is to ride every train in North America and in Oct of 14. we did the train from Van Buren to Winslow. We rode first class with lunch and had a very pleasant time. Crossed several bridges and a very long tunnel. Our lunch was a box lunch and while not exceptional it was fulfilling and delicious. The train staff were both informative and friendly. All in all, well worth your time
We took the train from van Buren to Windslow ...great scenic trip . Nice way to spend the day . The high bridges were terrific . Little scared but so cool .the dark tunnel was unbelievable ...take this time to kiss the one you love
We took a granddaughter and a grandson to Van Buren to ride the Arkansas Missouri Railroad Train to Winslow and back. It was a fun and interesting trip. We rode over 3 trestles and through a long tunnel going and coming back. We all had fun and the train volunteers gave us lots of information and were very friendly. It is a nice adventure for a family outing. I would recommend it and probably will take some of our other grandchildren for a train ride in the future.
This was a great tour. The volunteer staff was friendly, the narrator was informative, and the ride was comfortable. You really couldn't ask for anything more. Box lunch was a croissant filled with shaved turkey, chips, a coke and a bakery cookie. NOTE: I just turned in a correction to thus listing. The originally posted name on tge Trip Advisor listing was Wheels in Motion on Layfayette which were both incorrect. (That is a skating rink)
On a 2 hour round trip from Van Buren to Winslow and back, we rode on vintage 1920's rail cars thru the Boston Mountains. The in car staff provided rich history of both the trains and the area around the tracks. This would also be good in the fall (early November) for the rich colors of the leaves and again with no leaves of early Spring to see more of the mountain scenary.
Didn't know what to expect but glad we went. Enjoyed the ride, glad it wasn't any longer. It was not a crowded ride and we did not get the boxed lunch. They do sell snacks and drinks on the train tho. The ride to Winslow was scenic but it was hard to hear and understand what the narrator was saying a lot of the time.
Very nice scenic train ridge through the foothills of Arkansas. The trip and conductor were nice, lunch was a boxed sandwich, chip and cookie. Seating was the only negative, it could be better if it were assigned seating.
