This is a quirky home which was fascinating to tour. The granddaughter of the woman who designed to home and did all of the rockwork is the curator and still lives there so it made it much more personal. I highly recommend stopping here.
this place is amazing. it is only something you can see in your imagination or read about in a book. the history was fascination. not only the house but also the yard and garden.
reminded us of my grandmothers house. they had so many of the old items she had. it was so interesting so see so many rocks and glass
The lady that welcomed us was very kind and knowledgeable, the gardens were beautiful, and the house was very unique. I enjoyed taking photos and reading some of the history. It's not a castle, as some have stated, but don't let that deter you. If you like historical stories, antiques, and gardens this is a great stop.
The history of this place was very intriguing. The rocks were amazing. This is a place for history buffs that is a must see. The personal tours are very nice.
It is actually a house but it is very interesting and has an interesting history. There is a small fee to go on the quick tour and then you can walk around in the yard and gardens. I enjoyed it very much.
We all were fascinated by rocks as children. Unfortunately, most of us grew old. Mrs. Quigley raised five children, while still retaining the wonderment & joy of the natural enough to make it part of her home. She grew up but probably never old. How neat!
We were greeted at the gate by an older lady that did not appear interested in us or being there, paid the $7 each to walk thru the "castle" , our experience took us a total of 15 minutes which just really highlighted one persons OCD is anothers art.
Was just about what you thought it might be, an old house that is covered with stones from the owners past with live plants growing inside the actual house. Believe it was almost 25 dollars for 2 of us to go thru the house. Save the money
Quirky is the best way to describe this place. It's an old farm house covered with rocks. The large windows allow for some interesting plant inside and the grounds are cool. It's not the highlight of a trip to Eureka Springs, but we enjoyed it.
Can you go inside?? That is something we were not sure of. It isn't specified, and every time we went to ask, the lady at the gate was welcoming another guest. The entire grounds are kept beautifully manicured. The story at the start with is interesting!
This is not a castle but is actually an old farmhouse at the end of a rough dirt road. It is possibly one of the strangest attractions we've ever been to. It is nothing more than the manifestation of one eccentric woman's obsessions with collecting rocks and creating strange objects which filled her house and garden. If you like quirky attractions this fits the bill but otherwise our advice is to save your money
We weren't sure about stopping, but so glad we did. The granddaughter told us the great story of how her grandmother built the house and decorated with rocks and shells she had collected since the age of 9. Definitely worth the $7/person. After she gives you a brief history, you take your time to go through the gardens and home alone. Photography is welcome. We really enjoyed it!
Wow, I'm so glad we stopped. Someone had left a review that it was to costly--are you kidding. What a reasonable price. The granddaughter is the hostess so she can answer all questions & is a nice, friendly lady. What a neat house, history & unique place So peaceful. You can just feel the love the original owner, Elise put into her home. My husband & I said "we'd love to live there". The owner was even kind enough to take a picture for us so we could both be in the photo. What a great place. Don't miss it. Wonderful.
This castle is made from small stones hand picked by the lady that built it. She also has plants grown from flower beds inside the house that actually go to the second floor. A unique place to visit. There is a fee.
