We drove from Branson south on the 62 and found the charming area of Eureka Springs AR, tucked in the Ozark Mountains it is a gem! The gardens, lookout over the mountains, the shops and the friendly people made the trip worth taking. We stopped along the way for a beverage at the Roudy Beaver, and had the best ribs ever at the rib place in the plaza with the Harley Davidson Dealership.
Nice walking trail, quiet, beautiful flowers. The kids can feed the trout. The path is wheelchair accessible.
Rode the wagons or whatever they called them from out motel to down town Eureka Springs and then you could take those same wagons with different colors signs to different attractions all thru and around the town. You could get off any time and catch another one anytime. We also took in the Passion Play and it was wonderful altho we had to go buy blankets at the gift shop because it got so cold. Unusual for for down there.
Wife like all the rocks and rock scuptures and flowers around,It's not really a guy thing i didn't think. Neat story about the family and how the so called castle came about.
My family and I went to the garden while we were road tripping through Arkansas. The guide there was very friendly and helpful. The place was very nice and relaxing. Beautiful scenery. Its a must see if in the area.
My family and I stopped by for about an hour and a half to visit the beautiful grounds. My ten year old son and twelve year old daughter really enjoyed the site. Both historical and beautiful place to visit!
What a treat to spend time on a lovely spring afternoon walking the trails, sipping the spring water, learning the history of the spring and wowing over the 10,000 petunias. It would be a lovely walk in any season. The area abounds in history.
The gardens are full of life, flowers, birds, and butterflies. It is great to walk along the paths and enjoy the gardens and springs that you find.
Have never seen such pretty gardens anywhere! They have obviously been laid out with great care, thought, skill and attention to every detail. The master gardener/designer deserves kudos all the way around. A feast for the eyes and food for the soul!
There are cute shops and restaurants that string along the main road in Eureka Springs. The foliage is changing in late October-early November, and the different colors are just amazing. Take a weekend to relax and take things slow.
They do an incredible job of maintaining the grounds of the gardens and providing a pleasant atmosphere for all to enjoy.
I really do love this little oasis in Arkansas. The blue spring is so pretty and to walk the grounds is a true pleasure. You can feed the large trout, get some great photos of nature and not feel like you are being hurried to leave.
This was the first time I have ever came to Eureka Springs. My boyfriend has been working up there in Gateway for going on 6 months, so we decided to meet up in Bentonville, Arkansas and go see the sites around Rogers/Bentonville. We left our Hotel in Bentonville around 1pm and drove to Eureka Springs. It was the most fun of our entire trip, because both of us like to walk/hike and look at old stores and just enjoy each other company. We walked and walked till about 6pm around all the shops and eatery places they have there. Afterwards we went to see the Christ of the Ozarks that evening where it had started to sprinkle some rain but it only lasted about 15 mins. We arrived at the Christ of the Ozarks and they even had the Passion Play going on that evening. We parked our car and walked down to see the Giant Statue and the view on the back side of the mountain. It was a GREAT trip. I would NOT recommend taking younger children to the Eureka Springs historic shopping area but I would recommend them to see the Christ of the Ozarks.
We were told these many gardens are the work of one dedicated gardener. He is very talented and in love with his work. They are gorgeous!
We were in Bentonville for a softbal tourney but it rained out ... so we headed to Eureka Springs to look around ..;.. so so so beautiful ... all the springs had gardens around them ... one was down in a grotto ... all the old houses and hotels .... the main downtown and shoppes were awesome .... Great Day
