It was a little confusing when we got there as to where to go or what to do. The museum was not very big and the video wasn't too interesting to me, but others may like it. I loved the beautiful flowers and the beautiful blue water in the spring. We enjoyed walking the trails.
This is one of Eureka's best kept secrets. It is completely amazing, tranquil, and relaxing. Take a book and blanket and just go to relax. Great place for families, couples, and solos. If your an outdoor person, check it out! The ticket price is worth it! The money goes to help preserve the spring and make sure it's around for the future.
This area gives you a good idea of what the springs were like before people starting over-using and abusing them. A gorgeous spring with beautiful walking trails and landscaping, plus a nice little gift shop and lots of information about the area is also supplied.
First of all, yes it does cost ten dollars a person. But if you're looking for a place to get back to nature and relax, this is where you should go. They have a website bluespringheritage.com that tells the history, and it's very interesting with its tie to the Trail of Tears. The site tells you everything this attraction offers. (It's closed until March, according to the site.)We saw the sign coming into Eureka and decided to check it out. We didn't have any idea it was an area to walk around in so my daughter and I had on boots with heels. We thought it was just an attraction to drive up to. As the last reviewer pointed out, there is a boardwalk trail that makes it very easy to travel through the area. We took our boots off and walked in our socks. Ha! That shows how easy it is to maneuver. And it does have a lot of benches along the way for resting. The spring is magnificent! We just stood quietly and took it all in. The color of the water is indescribable. With the birds chirping and the sound of running water, it really took me away from the city. I plan to go back again in the Spring.
It's not what I'd call a "cheap" stop, but it was still worth the money. We enjoyed the educational video about the spring. Putting your feet in the spring is INVIGORATING.
It was so peaceful and the plantings and water and all the grounds were absolutely beautiful. There is a boardwalk trail to lead you thru the park. I was there with family and my parents are getting up in age but even with my dad's bad back they were able to walk the entire boardwalk. there were benches along the way to rest and take in the beauty. There is quite a bit of walking and a few steps here and there, so if you are handicapped in anyway, it may be difficult to get around. It is definitely worth visiting especially if you enjoy the outdoors. there was also a gift shop. if I remember correctly, there was a fee but I don't think it was much. It was about 3 years ago that we were there. Again, the Trip Advisor site needs to give you more options to choose dates visited and who you traveled with.
Even with finding a dollar off coupon in some travel literature, not quite worth the price of admission. Maybe $10 per group but per person was way too much. The area surrounding the spring is quite beautiful, the rest, a nice stroll in the woods that could be had for free in many other Eureka Springs locations.
This is a don't miss attraction! It is so beautiful and the history of this place is so interesting. I could've stayed all day and just sat there. In fact. ..you can if you want to! And it's so inexpensive! ! Don't miss this!
The staff at the Heritage Center are warm, welcoming and knowledgeable. We did the short version of the tour--skipped the film and the longer walk of the gardens--and it was really great. The spring is beautiful as is the landscaping surrounding it. The walkways are well maintained and it's an easy climb down to and up from the spring.
My wife read about this and so we decided to visit and were very happy with the experience. The grounds are not that big but they are beautifully landscaped. The Blue Spring especially is beautiful with the beautiful blue clear water and the many trout swimming around. This was a very satisfying experience.
You don't have to spend much time at Blue Spring before you begin to understand why the reviews here are so overwhelmingly positive. The grounds are incredibly beautiful and peaceful, and the history of the place adds a whole extra level of interest. Be sure to wear shoes that are easy to slip off so that you can dip your toes in the cool spring water, especially on a hot day! There's a more thorough review of my visit here, including many more photos, on my blog at: http://blog.lovemanythings.net/2014/09/blue-spring-heritage-center.html
The spring itself is lovely, and ringed by beautiful flowers. The rest of the grounds are not as developed but still very nice. The boardwalks are awesome. Nice for about an hour's time. This is one of those things you can squeeze into a trip so if you have about an hour to kill I say go for it, it's a little bit of a drive from downtown but not too far. I think it's worth seeing.
This was such a surprise to find...... A short but beautiful walk. Nothing really compared to the beauty and peaceful feel you have as you walk the short path. The plantings were just beautiful and the history of the area is an addition to the adventure. I would go back in the spring just to see how much it changes from season to season.
We spent a little over 2 hours at blue springs taking man photographs of the beautiful water and land. You can walk rite down to the water and feel it with your hands or feet, it stays 54 degrees year around with several trout you can feed for a quarter. The staff is very friendly and run a fairly large gift shop. It's a great getaway and 1.5 miles off hwy 62.
We spent $20 for two of us to attend. The spring and flowers are pretty but it's honestly a glorified park. There are plenty of parks and gardens similar closer to my home that are free. Also, in my opinion there is very little heritage about this place. There are apparently hieroglyphics on the rock walls somewhere that we couldn't find. We spent a long while looking. Nothing seems very week marked and it's honestly not worth the money.
