I grew up in Andover and explored all those trails as a Kid. I could ride my bike from one end of town to the other by hardly crossing any streets. The Bay Circuit trail has so many great hidden spots, some feel so secluded you would never know you are in a populated suburb. We still make the trip to Deer Jump on occasion. I now live on the north shore and spend lots of time on the northern sections of the trail. We are so lucky to have such a great trail network! Thanks BCT!Brad
It most certainly isn't where my GPS took me to for 17 Moreland Avenue. Not sure those people appreciated my touring their driveway at the end of the street either. Never found it. Went to a nearby state park instead.
We hiked the Andover section over a few outings. It is clearly marked and includes a wide variety of terrain. Andover is full of great outdoor space - enjoy!
The Bay Circuit Trail in Andover connects to may other trail systems in town. There is the Andover Village Improvement Society (AVIS) property, Trustees of Reservations, and other conservation land all interconnected in Andover. Some of the trails even go over what was part of the Underground Railroad. Trails are used for hiking, biking, horseback riding, snowshoeing and cross-country skiing. No motorized vehicles allowed. Get out there and enjoy nature. It's wonderful!
I didn't realize it's in Andover already...but it's growing and connecting w/ trails from the North Shore. Amazing!
This trail network is spread widely over Andover and offers A large variety of hiking, walking, XC skiing or snowshoeing trails. Mountain bikers also enjoy the more challenging areas. It's hard to believe you're just 20 miles from Boston, rather than in NH or VT.
Lots of small trails that cover many towns. Some places you can hike for long distances. They go through many towns
