When we were looking to set a date and place in 1995 for our wedding, we chose Lynch Park for the beautiful Rose Garden setting. It was Aug and in this area, it is usually hot and humid. When we got to the Rose Garden, it was just a Gorgeous Day. Temp was 78, slight breeze, blue sky and all of the flowers in bloom. After the ceremony, we walked to the harbor edge and saw numerous sailboats drifting by. We could not have asked for a more perfect setting and day.
Lynch park is must see for anyone who appreciates beauty in all things, from the beaches, to the pristine gardens, I've attended weddings here, as well as enjoyed the many concerts at the hatch shell, put on by the city! This is the diet of our homecoming festivities, and where families can go, and not be mobbed by tourists!
There's something for everyone. They are putting in a new play area for young children there are two beaches, a lovely rose garden. president Taft stayed here when it was the Evans estate. Weddings take place all summer in the rose garden and receptions in the old refurbished carriage house. A must take!
My wife and I were married in the rose garden 5 years ago in August. It was (and is) a perfect choice. A beautiful setting right on the harbor. We did all the posed pictures with the ocean in the background. Also on the plus side is the price. It was $500 back then. The roses and flowers were in bloom. Not only gorgeous but we saved money on flowers. The down side was that you have to arrange for everything else yourself. Notably chairs. We went without and the reasonably short ceremony made it okay for our guests. You can rent a tent but it isn't necessary unless there is a chance of inclement weather. I also don't recommend having the reception there as the rest of the park, while very nice, has a lot of people using the beach. Kind of weird to have the reception there. We had ours at the Marriott. Not too long of a trek. The park is a great place to spend a summer's day without getting married but I certainly recommend it for your big day.Just be sure to plan all the extras.
Lynch Park is a beautiful place tucked away on the shore of Beverly. The rose garden there is amazing, and the ocean view is fantastic. It has everything of beauty - ocean, flowers, grass, and trees. Great for friends or families to go for a picnic or to take beautiful photos. A magical place!
My daughter has had summer camp at Lynch Park for the last 6 years. She is a very lucky girl as this is one of the most beautiful locations in Beverly. Lynch Park has two beaches, lots of trees and shade as well a a gorgeous rose garden and carraige house used for public functions. Parking for nonresidents (in season) is $5.00. There is a little snack bar. A place for all ages to enjoy.
Perfect place to spend a beautiful day. The rose garden was in full bloom the day we were there. It was not crowded. Though the water was cold the sand was warm.
I love to walk in the parks along the water in Beverly. This is a scenic spot to walk or picnic. There is a small beach, playground, grassy area and garden. The street the park is on is lined with beautiful houses and ocean views.
A very nice park on the waterfront, but expensive for non-residents, particularly on week-ends. Claimed to have favorable pricing for seniors, but were told at the gate that it did not apply on week-ends..
As I sat down at Lynch Park tonight listen to the music and looking at the views I commented on what a gem it is. I have been going here for 30 years and it is a wonderful place and so many city and towns have nothing like it. The beach is not much but the activity, the rose garden, the views and more cannot be beat. The city and the rec dept care so much and offer so much here that it just makes it special. So glad we have this park available to us. Fee at times for out of town folks.
I grew up going to Lynch Park. The grounds are just beautiful with long, green expanses of cherry-scented grass. I've never smelled the same scent of grass anywhere else. The brick wall-enclosed garden with the roses, brick walkways, circular peek-troughs, statues and Roman pergola are gorgeous. There are rare and unusual trees from Europe sprinkled throughout the lush grounds.Of the two beaches I always preferred the farthest one. At high tide there isn't a ton of sand, but there's enough to sit on your towel and gaze out at Baker's island. Low tide is the best time to visit. You can walk out in the cement walkway and walk a long way out to find sand dollars. The closest beach--the one nearest the parking lot and playground--always seemed a little grungy to me. Maybe it's just me.There's a concert shell as well as a snack/ice cream place, bubblers, and restrooms.I have so many beautiful memories of the many years I visited Lynch Park. It's a truly lovely place to spend a day whether on the sand of one of the two beaches or under the shade of an exotic old tree.
Lyncy h Park in Beverly is on the Atlantic Ocean. It has picnic tables with great views and plenty of room to play and relax. There are swimming areas but the ocean is usually cold. There is also a beautiful garden that has been the site of many weddings. Lynch Park is a North Shore treasure
Growing up on the ocean, I forget what an incredible park this is until I see it through someone else' eyes. Brought friends who could not believe the views or layout.
The city does an excellent job of keeping all public parks and ways open, clean and well maintained.Lynch Park has many types of entertainment throughout the summer and a lot of land for playing. This park is free for residents and affordable for visitors. There is a beautiful garden where many wedding parties, prom goers and visitors take great pictures. My favorite time is around sundown when boats start returning and the water shimmers with the reflection of the sun.My wife and I attended at wedding with the background of the ocean and the reception in the Carriage House. Great food in a historic building made it extra special. I highly recommend a visit to Beverly and all our parks, especially Lynch.
I'm not a beach-goer in general, but I love Lynch Park. Having two kinds of beach (one pebbles, one sand) and a beautiful ocean view while still being able to sit comfortably on a shaded bench is my kind of outdoor experience. The park has two play areas for bigger and younger kids, but my children prefer to play in the walled rose garden area instead. It feels like a fantasy castle for those who are more into make believe than rollicking athletics. But the boisterous kids have a huge open field to run around in, too.It is true that there is a non-resident parking fee, but that only applies during the day during the summer. During the rest of the year and summers in the early evening, the large parking area is both free and almost always offers lots of empty spots. It is also easy to run back to the car to get something you've forgotten as the parking is centrally located. There is a bandshell where the city of Beverly hosts summer events.
