This is hidden gem for watching July 4th Fire works!Usually around Charles river in Boston there are so many people and tress block our view to watch the fire works but at Larz Anderson Park they have this hill that many family go there and watch fireworks! Perfect for family and friends! Not only the 4th it is in general gorgers park!!Highly recommended!
Nice place to wander around for a summer picnic. There's a small pond that's very picturesque, and a nice park on the other side for kids. Ample space to run around and park. You can also take dogs here but I don't know if its just restricted to certain areas.
Perhaps the only negative about Larz Anderson Park is it can sometime be hard to find a place to park. But it's a lovely place to go, with a tall hill providing a sweeping view of the area, and an excellent playground, and really nice picnic sites -- that you generally have to reserve for with Brookline Recreation. The Auto Museum adds spice and interest. Highly recommended!
It is a nice, beautiful park, if you do not mind bird droppings on the grass and sidewalks. Views are great, though. Just check your stroller's wheels before you gold it back to your car,
Auto museum for history lovers, city view for sight seers, grills by the fountain for casual diners, this place has it all. We love to fly our kite there and skate and sled in the winter
Great park with lots of green grass and a museum to boot. We took the park in when my spouse wanted to see the July 4 th fireworks but avoid the crowded scene. Our hotel was in Brookline so 10 mins later and we were at the park. The view was great and we had a good time. There are public bathrooms located at the bottom of the hill near the courts. There are two places to park ... At the bottom and the top. If the places are all taken up, park on the East side on the side of the road. The North side has a preschool area or something and you can park there too if after the school is closed.
The venue is fabulous...if you are thinking of having you special day here then do not hesitate. Having just attended the states for friends sins wedding here, k cannot tell you how gorgeous this setting is. The view over to the city is incredible and once inside the seating amongst vintage motor cars is fabulous...
Larz Anderson Park is a great place year round. There's a hill from where you get a great view of Brookline, Chestnut Hill and downtown Boston in the distance. They have a fireworks show on 4th of July and the entire park looks amazing even when covered in snow, which is probably why you see so many wedding pictures and photo shoots here.
Nice hilly park. Has car shows almost every weekend during the summer. Enjoyable place for a stroll.
This not a famous place, but an excellent one to escape from the city.It is full of peace. You can take your family here for picnic or just come by yourself to have a reading here. One of best places for relaxing. .
I was pleasantly surprised by the Park, having recently visited other classic and antique car venues. Larz Anderson was the best. The restored cars dazzle and those that are preserved overflow with history and beauty. They can all be easily seen as the entire experience is on two levels with a variety of rooms. One of the most impressive aspects was how enjoyable and interesting the descriptions of the cars, the history of Larz Anderson, and the problem of preservation vs restoration are presented. Most museums do not have lengthy descriptions or narratives. Here they were exceptionally thought-provoking and fascinating. The only short coming is that I wish they had a more of such history. They touched on clothing worn by the Fast Ladies but I would have loved to read how the automobile transformed the United States. Perhaps that information can be found in the Museum of Transportation but a little bit of that would have moved up the rating to 5.
The Larz Anderson Auto Museum in the park has the most amazing beautiful antique cars. During the summer, car shows can be found here regularly for every kind of auto buff around. It's a place that shold not be missed!
The park does have a pretty water feature, and some garden architecture inherited from when the estate was a private home.
There are no words to describe the beauty and functionality of this 70 odd acre gem. Rolling green hills, a lake full of fish, 2 baseball diamonds, soccer fields and the awesome car museum and car shows. THE one thing that sucks are the geese...folks need to STOP feeding them, they defecate (TA doesn't like s..t) everywhere!
Very spacious and lots of well maintained grilling stations. They offer an excellent online booking service, although it may be considered somewhat pricey...
