highland pond

The pond used to be used for ice skating in winter but no longer is. People mostly go there to walk their dogs or jog along the cool wooded road/path. A few take their lunch breaks there, eating mostly in their cars. Some kids try to catch frogs, pollywogs or fish but it isn't usually interesting for anglers.

Pond is just a small part of nice hiking area. Xcountry ski in winter. Can also access area from poet's seat.

Dirty, not maintained and home to many homeless people. It could be wonderful, but Greenfield does not put in the effort. All talk, no action.

Highland Pond offers so much to so many...from quiet trails through the heart of nature...to tranquil spots where one can sit and ponder life's complexities. I love it when towns make the effort to protect and conserve sanctuaries such as Highland Pond. Despite the warning signs, I have yet to see a Coyote but maybe they have seen me. Happy trails!
