whitney and thayer woods

We were hiking there today, there is a map area in the parking lot. we were in the lot across from Papa Ginos. All of the trails are clearly marked, this is a nice easy hike for beginners, there are a lot of bridle paths, you can choose to hike up some hilly areas if you choose too. We did also see some mountain bikers, I asked one rider how the trails were for biking, he said they were mostly pretty clear. We will probably go back again

This park has over ten miles of carriage paths making it easy to walk and explore different areas. It also leads to the Weir River Farm where kids can see horses, sheep and chickens. The park has beautiful views of the Boston skyline as well as south shore. In spring we enjoyed the rhododendrons and in fall we enjoyed the beautiful fall foliage. There is also the cinderblock remains of an anti-missile radar control station from the Cold War. Bring your dogs, they will love it. Also, we have seen lots of people mountain bike riding on the paths.
