Plymouth Rotary Club did a fantastic job this year on the Polar Express out of Kingston Train Station. Very well organized. Was snowing so they had set up a tent to wait in. Everyone was very friendly and seemed to be enjoying themselves with the kids..Was just long enough to keep the kids attention. The only con was you couldn't hear the story, but most of the kids more excited about train ride and their goodie bag. Would definitely go again!!
We also went on the Polar Exp out of Kingston on December 8th. What a pathetic, disappointing JOKE! My poor mother purchased 10 tickets for all the kids and grandkids. I was one of the first people in line and was told we'd be on the top deck of the train. The way they took the lines to the trains, we were the LAST line to go and it was a free for all! No organization. Not happy. Anyways, we did end up on a top train all together, but way towards the back. We couldn't hear when they were reading the story and people were shouting, "We can't hear!" So one elf decided to take the book and walk up and down the aisle and read it with the microphone, which squeaked the whole time, so finally he gave up on the mic. Adults were actually all joking and laughing at how pathetic everything was. Kids were basically just playing with each other because there was nothing "polar express" to do. They delivered chocolate milk and chocolate chip cookies, but wouldn't allow the adults to have any!!! Santa got on at one point but just walked through the train and didn't stick around. Next thing we knew we were turning around, there was no North Pole, nothing to see, no announcement we were at the North Pole. What a joke! I along with many other customers stated we'd never waste our money on this again. Even my 11 yr old got off the train and said "that was pathetic!" Everyone should have been refunded their $$!
Do not go!!!!!! We would of had more fun sitting on our couch watching a movie, but instead we had to tolerate an awful experience at The Polar Express. We are so entirely disappointed. The event was completely disorganized, and just plain cheesy! We deserve our 60 dollars back!!!!!!
I want to let everyone know that the Polar Express Train Ride in Kingston MA was a waste of money and NOT AT ALL what they said it would be. We boarded the train with 3 children. The train started on it's journey to the so called North Pole. The Conductor DID NOT announce "all aboard". All the people and children where talking and no one even realized that the story was being read over the intercom because it was very low and muffled and also there was that loud screach the microphone makes through the whole thing. An elf was walking up and down the isle with the book showing pictures, but no one was paying attention. When the train stopped, we had no idea to look out the window on the opposite side from our seats to see what was suppose to be the North Pole because they did not announce it.. Then about 12 elves, characters in hideous costumes and Mrs Santa and Santa boarded and gave out a little bell to each child. There was no hot cocoa as stated. It was Yahoo chocolate milk and a few animal crackers. To top it off, people walked down the isle at the end to SELL t-shirts, hats, wistles and raindeer antlers. When it was over, a little boy sitting next to us said "where's the Polar Express?" How sad that the boy had no idea along with everyone else on the train, what was going on because the event was so unorganized and not what they described it would be at all. This was the biggest farse and waste of money I ever spent. In other words, everyone boarded the train with no guidence or knowledge of what was going on. I even told the elf that everyone was just talking among themselves and didn't even realize the story was being read because it was not announced and no one could even hear it. I can't even say enough to tell you what a horrible event it was. They should definately discontinue this event.
