We've been to the one in Taunton for a birthday party, and had a wonderful time there. Today we went to the one in Kingston. I understand that due to the snow, everyone is experiencing leaky roofs. But IMO if you are running a business, especially one that involves children running around and you have no less than 7 barrels out, then maybe you shouldn't be open, or at least allow a refund once the parents see the mess and feel unsafe. One ride was shutting down while we were there, however one of in the inflatable had it's exit behind the one being taken down. Kids were getting off that one and trying to crawl under the one that was deflating. The floor was dirty, there were huge dust bunnies everywhere, gum, candy wrappers, you name it. I know that staff isn't there to babysit and shame on the parents who 'dump' their kids off. But there still should be some staff supervision, my daughter is 3 and was in the "under 6" area, where there was one boy at least 10 years old jumping around and getting rough with all the kids. He landed on my kid's head, and when I asked him where his mom was he said she'd gone to Macy's. Not the staff's fault he was unattended, but they should have stopped him from being in the little kid section.(I also wonder why the heck he wasn't in school, but I digress) The final straw the GLASS DISPLAY CASES in the play area. The Pump N Jump is supposed to be a place where kids can run and scream and jump and have fun. Why the heck is there a glass display case in the middle of the play section? I can deal with the grime, no worse than playing at the park. The noise and unattended children, hey it happens anywhere. I can even forgive the leaks and water all over the floor. But the glass display case is the final straw.
I have gone to this facility multiple, mainly due to the fact that it is the only place in my location (20 mile radius) for this type of activity. Although my kids enjoy it, it is overall a very dissatisfying experience. You are REQUIRED to take shoes off to go into the mats, yet there is a 75% chance that every adult their on the mats is wearing their filthy shows into the play area. The slides have huge amounts of dirt, candy, and other objects in them. There is a designated are for children 6 years old and younger, which ALWAYS has children MUCH older than that in that area, ensuring that the younger children have noChoice but to pushed around and ahoved out of the way. I never see any STAFF members walking around to ensure any policies being followed. It is a very poorly run facility, and im honestly suprised it is still up and running
It cost a small fortune to take my two kids there and one the bigger slides there is so many kids that you either have to wait to go down the slide or risk your kid colliding with another kid. The noise.... the blowers on the slides are loud, loud, loud coupled with the kids trying to scream over them... cacophony at its best. the fumes from the blowers give the air a funny smell and a bad taste in your mouth and gave me a headache.
We went here for the first time and we will be back. We were explained the rules and knew what to expect. Our daughter played for a couple hours and had a great time. She loved all the slides and bouncing that she could do. It was a great day to spend a rainy afternoon.
My husband takes our 3 year old daughter to the taunton location often and I have been a few times as well. We come here mainly on rainy days when we don't want to drive to Attleboro or Plymouth because it is a lot closer. If possible go during the week & avoid weekends like the plague. Thank god our schedules permit us to go on Tuesdays because I couldn't dislike other peoples children more then when there are 10 birthday parties going on and 100s of kids running around like animals knocking small children down and just acting like maniacs. Here are a few of my observations.1. CLEANLINESS: My biggest issue with this place is the lack of cleanliness. We make sure we always bring old/dark colored socks because every time we leave there it is like black tar on our socks its disgusting. I have also gone into the bounce houses with my daughter to assist her and I was dodging dirty bandaids and what seemed to be spilt drinks that never got cleaned. GROSS! We make sure to wash her hands at least twice while we are there and then lather her in hand santizer when we leave. (Kids world in Attleboro, for example is so clean you walk out with white socks like when you went in, they sanitize everything multiple times throughout the day while Pump and Jump employees sit at the desk on their phones the whole time, we have never seen them clean a thing all the times we have been there.)2. STAFF SUPERVISION: There is NO staff supervision whatsoever, there needs to be at least one attendant at each area to supervise the kids because the place is so big. The argument is "they're not responsible to watch your kids, you are" and personally my husband and I are very active with our child and will follow her and play with her the whole time, but lets face it there are ALWAYS parents sitting on their butts on their phones or gossiping with other moms while their kids are the little maniacs pushing, shoving, or playing in areas that they are too big for. These type of parents are everywhere but I don't feel like I should be disciplining your children or having to give you the stare of death from across the room until you get the hint to get up off your butt and watch your child. Places like Monkey Joes has an attendant at every bounce house and I think that's great, they can kick the fresh kids out or tell them to stop doing whatever so I don't have to. Anything can happen in one of those bounce houses (injury, assault) especially the ones that are enclosed and like a maze, even parents who watch their children can't see what is going so it's important to have someone there who can go in or sit on the top to supervise.3. STAFF: The teens who work at pump and jump are very young and most don't really seem like "kid" people, not overly friendly but have never been rude to us. I do wish they we more active in enforcing rules and maybe monitor the mall entrance so kids don't run out or creeps don't come in. I only have one child but people trying to keep an eye on multiple children in an area like that must be a nightmare. I think places who specialize in kids activities should have qualified people working there that are good with kids and involved. This is a great space to let the kids have fun and get their energy out, the bounce houses themselves are fantastic and look so fun that I would love to be a kid again to play in them. They have a decent amount of games and have been getting more in every time we go and a good selection of prizes. The cleanliness and lack of staff involvement are huge issues for me and I think most parents but they are things that can easily be fixed, if those changes were made this place could really blossom. This is the closest indoor play place around here and kids need a place to go so I really hope they take the right steps to making a change before it ends up just another abandoned location. PS. I just want to respond to the comment of "these people posting negative comments must be affiliated with other play places" is just ridiculous, yes we are all apart of the playhouse posse and just have a vendetta against our rival play place. It's called constructive criticism or just a bad experience people had. Maybe you should visit these other places mentioned (Kids world, Monkey Joe's, imagination island) and you would have something to compare it to. Pump and Jump is no diamond but with the right steps it could be if the proper steps are taken.
Tried to book a birthday party and when I did not receive a email confirmation I called a teenager answered and told me they do not have me in there system and it was busy there to call back later I asked to speak to a manager as I have a party scheduled in 7days there and the girl told me there isn't a manager and my paper work is prob on her bosses desk so I should get a confirmation next week I again told her my party was 7 days away, she said ya that's ok u can call back later where busy and I can't hear u! I am disgusted! I am suppose to have a party in 7 days and now I don't know if the party is happening or not! What kind of establishment is this! I'm reporting this company it shouldn't take two weeks to put my paperwork in the system! Now my question is where is my credit card information then since whomever I booked the party with obviously wrote it on paper and never logged it! Don't waste ur time or money here! Horribly run establishment!
Beware of booking a party late in the day.PROS - The kids have a lot of fun in a large, open space with fun inflatables and games. It's a good space to take the kids for an afternoon of indoor recreation.CONS - Having a birthday party here can add undue complexity to a time of just having fun with your children. Multiple parties booked back to back overwhelm the system and can create a loss of attentiveness to your particular party. And from what I have observed, there are no staff stationed in the play space to monitor the children (at the Taunton location). With a large party, it's almost impossible to know what all the children are doing at once.I booked a party late in the day, thinking most parties would have come and gone earlier. However, a late day booking ended up leaving us with a staff who was less than attentive at times, in part due to a schedule of non-stop parties preceding ours. When we arrived (5 minutes early) we were told the party before ours was just ending, and the room was still being cleaned and prepared for our party. I was okay with that, though a little surprised more time had not been left in between parties. We walked past all the other rooms which were full of festive celebrations and decorations, and got to our room which was empty and still messy from the party before. Again, I was okay with that to a certain extent. But 40 minutes later, the room did not look much different. Cleaning bottles were still on the tables, there were not enough chairs for the birthday tables. There were no chairs for the adults, as they were all being used by parties which began before ours. There were no balloons. We had not been provided with the water bottles and game cards. My husband began paying for the kids to get game cards and drinks. Our guests had come in from various entrances and were not informed about signing-in. Thus, when our supplies arrived, they were not enough due to the party count at the front desk being off. It took awhile to straighten that out. I missed quite a bit of my child's birthday party due to worrying about logistics that were supposed to be handled by a party host who disappeared for 10-15 minutes at a time. It was not until I complained to the manager that things changed. But, by that time a lot of the play time had gone by and I was not able to enjoy it with my children and their guests. A young woman at the front desk was the only staff who apologized for the way things were going/not going. If I had to do it again, if I chose to go back, I would probably book a party earlier in the day before the resources of staff energy and attentiveness get drained. Or I might just have pizza and cake at home and then take the children to play, without the worry of what could prove to be a logistical train wreck of too many parties happening at once.
After reading other reviews I do have to agree, Pump n Jump is run very poorly. They don't have professional, mature staff or management and that is unfortunate BUT (and this is a HUGE but), THE KIDS LOVE IT and isn't that what it is all about? If kids are getting hurt this is not on the staff at Pump n Jump this is on the parents. The staff there are hardly adults themselves and they are not meant to babysit your kids so you can hang out with the other moms, they are there to keep the party moving along. Don't get me wrong, I am in FULL agreement that the parties are run very poorly, it is a rip off (one slice of pizza and a mini water bottle hardly cuts it for growing boys) and customer service is in the toilet but the bottom line for me is that my kids (10 and 7) both absolutely love Pump n Jump (Kingston) and it is because of that that I will continue to have their parties there if that is where they want them because their birthday is about THEM not about me relaxing. And to the woman who's credit card was overcharged - that also happened to me (it was a pain in the neck but they did end up sending me a $50 check for the overcharge quite quickly), so again, yup the place is so poorly run ABSOLUTELY but it's not my birthday it's my child's which means it doesn't matter what I think so much if they are having a blast and I have never had a party goer of either of my children not be thrilled to find out the party was at Pump n Jump!
I went with my 2 daughters age 6 and 8. They ha a decent time on the bouncy houses. That is essentially all they have for activities. Not a ton of different stuff but they were happy. The arcade was a disappointment with many of the machines off and many others charging you a credit but not working. Also instead of tickets for points, the points go on your card, this seemed to only work sporadically. there was no one manning the point redemption. It looks like they are undergoing reservations. There were birthday parties, but it looks like all you get is a table partitioned off by some temporary walls. As far as i could tell the kids just run around, no instruction. There are two sections 6 and under and bigger kids. There are height restrictions for the bigger kids but the staff was not enforcing it at all. My daughters birthday is coming up(9) and she decided this was not the place to have a party
I have gone to the Taunton Location many times. I have 2 children, a 4 year old and a 2 year old. I would advise that since the staff is not there to watch your children, that parents that choose to go there are prepared to monitor their children closely. My kids have a great time. At first my 2 year old would go to the larger bouncy houses, and would get stuck because he was not coordinated enough at that time, but other kids were very nice and many times they would help him. That really impressed me. We spend hours there, and if you keep the receipt you can go to the jumping area in the mall you can get a discount. It is a lot of fun, and i love that there is a lot of space to run, and it is padded. This way children not only bounce around, but they can really get their energy out by running and playing on a safe padded area. One word of caution, as the door is very large and children can easily make a run for it, parents need to be diligent. If your kid is a runner you need to be close to them and keep them in your sights. It is not really a place for people who like to sit and watch the kids play. It is great though for the parents who do not mind getting out there and playing with their kids. I have noticed it is great for dads and their kids. Parents can run around and play with the kids (dont go in the bouncy houses though). My family really enjoys it.
Awful service, overpriced, staff is not attentive and does not keep party organized whatsoever I had a party at the one in Taunton ma and was very unhappy. Even the guests parents commented on how they were overpriced and staff was non caring. Manager there was also rude and had an attitude. People like this should not be working in a place for children.
After reading a couple of reviews online I felt compelled to write a review about this place. As I feel like the previous reviews were being completely unfair and must be affiliated with other play places. My kids love Pump N Jump and the staff is never rude. The front desk is right by the front doors so I really don't know what the last reviewee was talking about. When I checked my children in the staff clearly explained what the rules of play were and I knew exactly what was expected. I did ask why it was that they could not close off one of the entrances and it was explained that because of building codes and because of the square footage, they could not legally close the doors off. This makes since if there was a major problem inside the facility as they would need to exit the facility promptly. Bottom line I thought the place was great. My kids spent a couple of hours climbing, playing, sliding and had a great time. The place was clean which suprised me, especially because it was durig February vacation. My kids love it, and I will be back for many more times to come.
I visited your Taunton location for the first time yesterday and I can tell you, without question, that I will not be going back. The primary reason: safety. There are several ways in which this location is not safe for children:1. The entrance to the mall is large and unmonitored. There is no security to prevent a little one from wandering out and, more importantly, no way to prevent anyone from entering the facility and removing a child. You do not have a system which attaches an adult to a child upon admission (see: Davis Farmland, Imagination Island). Yes, it is a parent's responsibility to keep watch over their children but in an area that is so large and open (see #2) it is very easy for a parent to lose sight of a child. Unlike a playground, you are charging for admission and should provide an extra level of security.2. The area is way too large. The inflatables and games are too spread out and there is far too much open space. It was impossible for me to monitor all three of my children because, with multiple ways in and out of the play area, they easily moved from one space to another. If you come with more than one child, you should be prepared for them to be out of sight quickly.3. The play areas are not monitored. There was no staff in the inflatables area to ensure that safety rules were being adhered to or that the people in the area had paid for admission. It puts parents in the uncomfortable situation of monitoring other peoples children or, potentially leaving the play area to go get a staff member if the situation warrants.4. The location of the bathrooms is completely inappropriate for children. They are located near the entrance but behind a wall - completely obscured from the front desk. Another parent I was with described it as creepy and I completely agree.5. We were attending a birthday party and was completely disappointed by the attention of the staff, who gave the parent no indication of the schedule of the party and appeared only once to serve pizza. The room was not ready upon arrival and the staff did nothing to help the parent. Your facility is an accident waiting to happen and will ultimately attract predators. I have told my children that we will not be returning and not even to ask if we can go. I have told them that I will bring them lots of places for fun but never, ever, will we go some place that is not safe.
This place is a total joke. The floors are so slippery and half the children that came with my party got hurt. There is no supervision, if you need help there is no one willing to help out. They think just because you sign the waver, they don't have to monitor what is going on. Kids were fighting and hitting each other. I'm not saying that parents shouldn't be more aware of what is going on, but when you bring 6 kids and 4 very attentive adults and 3 of those children leave with injuries, there is obviously a disconnect somewhere. Staff has an "I don't care" attitude and in my opinion should not be working with children. Overall my visit was terrible, and that's being generous. Also the bathrooms are only what I can describe as "under construction". For a relatively new place, they smell and are extremely dirty, not to mention the concrete floor and unfinished walls you have to walk through to get there. Honestly, don't waste your money. What originally seemed like a good idea for my children to go and burn off some energy turned out to be a disaster. Please save yourself some money and find a better place to take your kids. You'll thank me and many other unsatisfied parents.
I've had a few things happen at the kingston location-1) My friend had her daughters b-day party there in Dec, 2012...they kept messing up her credit card info and were very rude about it. It ended up being a error on THEIR part after a full week of my friend worrying and stessing....the hostess was barely there to help and my friend had to ask numerous times for the food. It was not fun at all...2) When they first opened in Kingston, i brought my son in. He had just turned 2 and was afraid of the pump n jump stuff....but i was told they had a free area for kids to play in. This is the middle area w/ old used kitchenette toys and a couple of slides. I've take him there a bunch of times to play for 10-15mins whe i have had to go to the mall and never had a problem. Today very rudely i was approached and told i had to pay $10.99 for my son to play. I was told this was FREE and have come many times. This is the same girl who booked my friends party- very unprofessional....obviously there is mis-communication and bad management. It's not a very safe environment either as i have seen many kids fall on the slippery floors and hurt themselves.
