Beautiful old, historic house. The staff did a friendly tour. Nice little gift shp. Decorated inside with period antiques. I'll be honest-I loved looking at the house from the outside. So nice. Neat that is is ;located across the street from Lexington green. parking can get tricky. I believe the tram tour stops here.

There are three historic houses in Lexington - I liked the Hancock-Clarke House the best. All are worth visiting.

Lexington Concord is famous for the American revolution and this is an excellent place to visit. They just finished a major preservation effort and it is immaculate. This tavern is where the Lexingtonians waited for the british after Paul Rever went through. Well prepared guides give you the whole story in about 1/2 hour. A must see- and right next to the visitors center near Lexington green.

I have been wanting to visit Lexington and Concord for some time. My wife and I made it there yesterday and it was a warm and beautiful fall day. Our first stop was Buckman Tavern and we were very impressed. They have renovated (preserved) the building but kept the rooms inside as they were. The 20 minute acoustical tour was informative and very interesting! At the end of our visit we spent time with Kathy, Elaine, and Martha. All three were very friendly and answered our questions. I enjoyed my visit so much that I plan on visiting next Patriots Day so that I can see the re-enactment.

We were taking a day trip away from our Boston vacation and visited Lexington and Concord. We were so pleasantly rewarded by a step back to Paul Revere's time via the Buckman Tavern. The wonderful people running the tavern made us feel welcome and a part of the history that they share daily with the tourists. The cost is minimal, the enjoyment is great! By all means visit as many of the historical site as possible in the area. The tour package for all three locations is the best buy ($12.00). Concord is a short drive away and continues not only the history aspect but also literary greats such as Thoreau and Walden Pond.

I was able to walk to this attraction, after parking my car at the Hancock-Clarke home. It was a beautiful short walk to the Tavern and I was able to squeeze in a quick 20-minute audio tour before the next tour of the Hancock-Clarke home started on the hour. It is very well run, the employees are very nice and helpful, and I had a lovely time learning more about the history of Lexington and getting an idea of what life was like back then. Highly recommend these historic homes!

Our recent restoration of the historic Buckman Tavern aimed to not only restore the 18th century spaces of the house, but also provide visitor amenities and handicap accessibility to the structure. Please visit us again for a complimentary private tour so that we can show you more details of the restoration and answer any questions you may have.

We bought the "First Shot" tour package allowed access into the Buckman Tavern, Hancock -Clarke House, and Munroe tavern ($12 for all 3 versus $7 each house individually). The Buckman Tavern is right next to the Visitors Center, so a short walk. The Buckman Tavern has a self-guided audio for the first floor and then a special exhibit on the second floor. The tour takes about 20 minutes to go through.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review on Trip Advisor. We are glad that you enjoyed the Hancock-Clarke House and are sorry that your experience at the Buckman Tavern was not as enjoyable. We recently re-interpreted the tavern and exhibits, and your feedback is helpful as we continue to evaluate.

It was wonderful to see the place where it all began--the tavern where Minutemen in Lexington anxiously awaited the arrival of the British regulars. A nice display of 18th century artifacts was set up, with handheld audio devices for self-guided tours.

The Buckman Tavern audio tour through 5 period rooms and an upstairs museum doesn't take a lot of time to complete, but it is interesting and worth completing if visiting Lexington due to its historical significance.
