I visited the Damiel Webster Estate for their annual Victorian Christmas display. Their was an entrance fee ($8.00 for Seniors) but it was worth every penny. Each room was decorated in a creative and impressive manner.
This is a beautiful place and the home and grounds are a wonderful monument to an important figure in American history. The house is nicely restored and a great place to visit and take some pictures that will be memorable.
I have had the pleasure of visiting and am proud it is a not just a landmark for Marshfield but of the South shore of Boston
This charming home is being lovingly restored. Volunteers there offer warm and informative insight into the historic Webster family and their time in Marshfield. It is also available for weddings or parties. How elegant it would be to see a bride descend the staircase!
The Daniel Webster Estate is well worth a trip to see the beautiful, fully restored mansion, and all the artifacts that it has from Daniel Webster and the 19th century. It is a wonderful place to rent for a function
I didn't realize until taking the tour of the Daniel Webster Estate and Heritage Center that, while the beautiful house was built on his home property, he never lived in that structure. Daniel Webster's daughter-in-law built it, during the Victorian era, in tribute to him, on the site of Daniel Webster's former home. Further, it has undergone some inauthentic restoration at the hands of multiple designers for one of those designer showcase events. That being said, the house *is* beautiful, informed docents lead guests on tours and share anecdotes about Daniel Webster, and a variety of artifacts related to Daniel Webster and the house are located throughout the house and its small, one-room museum.I enjoyed my visit to the Daniel Webster Estate and Heritage Center, but admit the above-mentioned drawbacks lessened my enjoyment. I describe it more as a regional gem than a major destination.
