fine arts theatre place llc

The Fine Arts is a downtown cinema. It has two screens operating and a third still being refurbished. My wife and I saw "Interstellar" in the largest auditorium. There was a large screen with a theatrical curtain in front of it that opened to reveal the movie...just like in the heydays of theatres. The sound was terrific. Because this theatre has the ability to show 35mm film it was showing "Interstellar" several days before any other cinemas in the area...I guess some movies will be giving preference to theatres like this. The other auditorium had a Disney film "Big Hero 6". Everything seems new: carpets, candy stand, lobby furniture, etc. The people in the lobby are very friendly, just the opposite of the cold reception at the big multiplexes. There is on street parking in front and a giant free municipal lot across the street. There are several dining spots right across the street via the parking lot including HalfWay Café (American Bar Food) and El Huipil (Mexican) so its easy to park and with a few steps go to the cinema and have dinner. Much nicer than fighting the traffic at a 20-plex and then walking a half-mile to the lobby IMHO.
