This is what we did with a 3 year old, and he had time of his life. The chicken feed was free. We could also see a pony, and a goat. Somehow it was Saturday, and it everything else was closed, but no informaion was posted on locked doors about open hours, and the phone did not answer. Other than that, it was a nice park visit.
I have been coming here forever. It is a former estate if the Ames family (about 100 acres I think). There are nice trails for walking and farm animals to visit with (horse, goat, sheep, ducks, peacock, chickens, etc.). The grounds are kept very nice and there are periodic events for children/families and once a year a craft fair (Harvest Fair).
A very beautiful walking park. Bring the kids, visit and pet the animals. This is an awesome asset for the town of Easton.
The Sheep Pasture is a very special place. This park is set on land that had previously been one of the Ames Estates. A very lovely setting with a number of short trails that one can easily walk within half an hour. Wonderful for children as well as dogs. In fact, that's part of what makes this place so special. Seeing the smiles on all those little faces one can't help but leave happy. The original stone foundation is all that's left of the Ames Mansion yet that only adds to the magic. Children love feeding the chickens and other birds. The sheep, ponies, and goats all chew contentedly amidst beautifully kept grounds. Plenty of bird houses for those children who love to count. One of my favorite places that I try to visit as often as possible.
