I have been going to the Winslow Farm ever since it opened many years ago. It is operated by just one woman with the help of her many trusty volunteers. There is not enough space to write how much I love it here. Any time of the year is a good time to go. And there is always something new to see and remember. I love the place because I grew up on a farm, and it reminds me of my childhood. It is a joy to see the animals wandering contentedly and freely. They are all rescued animals with heart wrenching pasts. I enjoy just to walk around the outlying woods and taking in the natural setting; or sitting by the burning camp fire. So relaxing... Just seeing the smile on my grandson face when I take him to Winslow Farm makes the day worthwhile. I can now go here more often! A year-round family membership is available!
This place is the best, they rely strictly on donations. Great place for families to take the kids, great place.
Took my granddaughters to Winslow farm for my first time, although I have driven near it hundreds of times. Winslow farm is an animal rescue farm. Almost a zoo there was such a variety of animals. The thing that makes this place unique is for the most part the animals roam free. There is something special about being followed by a donkey as you walk. What makes it special is these very friendly animals were all abused and rescued by some very catering people. The farm itself is very clean, SURE you might step on something but that the cost of freedom. I will go again and if I haven't been for a while I will stop by and donate. What is happening at that farm is SPECIAL.
I spent an afternoon at Winslow Farm with my 4 year old. Upon arriving I was a little confused - there was no sign saying 'Winslow Farm' facing the road that I saw just one mentioning their Halloween programs, I initially had a hard time determining where we could and could not go, and we didn't see staff for the first 10 minutes - but by the end (I think) I had most everything figured out. My daughter loved the playset, petting cats, donkeys, sheep, and goats, watching the pigs and chickens. Despite the initial confusion, it was kind of neat to explore and roam and not be directed any which way. We stayed for about 2.5 hours. There is a port-a-potty for a public to use. Wear shoes appropriate for a farm since there is a lot of animal excrement on the ground.
This is a great little farm. Filled with animals that once were abused, neglected or unwanted. Each animal has a story. Most of the animals are roaming free. The grounds are beautiful. There are donkeys, peacocks, sheep, goats and an array of birds. They have a beautiful white peacock. There's a small gift shop but it really doesn't have much. There is a nice play area for kids. During easter there is a nice easter egg hunt. The staff are friendly and helpful. You can tell the owner and staff are very dedicated to the welfare of these animals.
This is one of the best places in Norton to bring kids. It's clean, the animals are out in the open or very close. The volunteers are awesome and it's great year round. They have fun stuff for Easter, Halloween, Christmas and have great kids birthday parties. Just go.
I have visited Winslow Farms several times and each time I am totally amazed. For such a large area with so many animals strolling freely around, it is very clean. On top of that and being an animal lover, I have enormous admiration for the founder and volunteers that make this happen, to give all the animals there a safe haven to live out the rest of their lives. Love it!!!
I loved this place! My boyfriend and I went on a sunny Friday afternoon and it was the perfect place to relax and play with some animals. It was only $10 per person (which is more of a donation anyway) and it was very clean and low-key with a wide variety of animals. All the animals seem very happy and basically have the run of the place; we were so surprised when 3 large Nubian goats came up to us and followed us throughout the rest of the farm! Overall it was a great experience and I'll definitely be visiting again
This place is one of the most caring and well kept that I have visited. Run with few staff and a dedicated owner, all of the animals are exceptionally well cared for and therefore well adjusted and dare I say, Happy! Alpacas, emu, ponies, pigs, geese, ducks, sheep, goats, chickens, rabbits, doves, peacocks, exotic birds... all saved and rehabilitated. Enclosures are spacious and sometimes even free roaming... gorgeous cats roaming the place waiting for a belly rub. I went with a group of home schooling parents and children and had a fantastic and informative visit. Tour costs $10 each and general admission $5.... this is not a Zoo! This is a place where you can make a difference by paying your entrance to feed these abandoned animals. Someone mentioned that they can feed animals for free elsewhere... that is ridiculous... of course you can - but these animals have a whole complete safe and healthy life... this is a real sanctuary and well worth the visit.
I decided to try something diffrent, soI brought my 4 yr old and his cousins to this place after reading some reviews online so we decided to go for Saturday afternoon. you pay a small donation at the gate. There were lots of cats roaming around. Its an ok place to take the little ones if youre looking for something to do but dont expect too much.
Winslow Farm Animal Sanctuary is a wonderful place, a little piece of heaven. My eyes filled with tears when I was visiting the farm knowing that most of these poor animals had lived a past from hell. I was so happy seeing all the animals all around the farm knowing that they would now be safe forever. As an avid lifelong animal lover and as a person who adopts only animals with traumatic pasts, I applaud Ms. White for her big heart and kind soul for saving so many animals over the years. If only more people could aspire to become like Ms White, the world would be such a better place. I imagine that heaven is like Winslow Farm.Lisa Waters
Wish the price was $5 instead of $7 per person. I might talk myself into going back. But bottom line, I can feed animals for free elsewhere.
Cute little animal sanctuary filled with cats, dogs, birds, pigs, goats, to name a few. Petting area, kids playground and short walking trail are amongst the neat homes built for the animals. Non profit organization that provides a home to abandoned animals and an enjoyable afternoon out for families.
We stayed over 3 hrs. It was beautiful and peaceful. You can walk in every animal living area (except the horses). My kids loved it. They didn't want to leave. It was clean .. well kept .. and the animals were well taken care of. The animals are a little shy .. but if you are quiet and walk over to them slowly - they will let you pet them. There is a playground for the kids. I heard they are building a food area too. A must visit! Your entrance fee is a donation for the care of the animals. During my visit - I planned to send them a yearly donation. My kids are begging me to go back (and we will soon). There are horses, pigs, chickens, ducks, peacocks, cats, dogs, llamas, alpaca, goats, sheep and much more! Go see for yourself!
