Their wine selection is the tastiest I've ever had. Their jellies are to die for. But overall, it is the people who run this fine establishment that make a trip there worth your while. They are prompt, reliable, friendly folks who are enthusiastic about what they do.I first encountered them at a wine tasting, and fell in love with all of their flavors, both wine and jelly alike. I ordered some jellies from them a day before christmas eve, as a gift to my mother. They arrived the next day! I was blown away by the response time.Wonderful!
Very friendly atmosphere, and the wines are wonderful. The tasting let you try all of the different wines, and you get to keep your glass.
My husband and I love wine and wherever we go, if there's a vineyard or winery we make it a point to stop by. We visited this place and absolutely loved it. The owner of the winery talked us through our tasting. We ended up leaving with a case of wine and several of their jellies (which they also use their wine to make). This place is an absolute stop if you're nearby.
I highly recommend a stop at the Plymouth Bay Winery. I grew up in the area and never knew about this hidden gem. When my husband and I snuck away on a date we were pleasantly surprised. We were greeted by a very nice woman as soon as we walked in the door. She was very friendly and gave us a tasting menu. The tasting was held by the very funny, very sarcastic owner. The wines were fruity and delicious. We also got to try one of the wine jam's. The wine and jam were delicious! We left with 3 bottles of wine, but now I'm kicking myself and wish we bought more! We also bought a jam it was just so tasty!!
Our misfortune was a bus of tourist had just been dropped off. The place was packed. We attempted to go to the far end of the room where there were a couple there for a separate wine tasting from the bus tour. No one paid attention and it was way too many people. MIGHT try again - maybe
Stopped by the winery on a whim the other day and I'm glad I did! They offer two types of tastings, one which includes 4 samples ($3) and a larger tasting that includes a souvenir glass and samples of virtually all of their wines and jellies ($6). We had the pleasure of having one of the owners host our tasting. He was friendly, knowledgeable, and funny! They offer a variety of wines and wine jellies; primarily fruit oriented. I was only planning to purchase a bottle when we walked in but I walked out with a whole case! The location is also very convenient with free, off street parking and an amazing view of Plymouth Bay and the Mayflower II in the distance. Highly recommended!
Cute little winery right off the main beach road. For only $6 you can do a tasting of all the wines, some jams, and keep the glass. The wine is all fairly sweet but very good. Mostly fruit wines; great flavor though. The price of wine by the bottle is $11-$13 each.
Mike greeted us when we arrived and gave us his full attention. We left with a case of his wine. The last full day in the area we went back and got more to take home. I doubt my wife shares any of this wine. Very fruit forward but not too sweet.
This is just a winery, not a vineyard. The wines are on the sweet side. You could choose to sample four for free I think or sample all of them, bring home a wineglass, and pay $6. We chose the second one. I'm glad I did because I had never been there before and didn't know which wines to pick. The dry dock white, the blackberry, and the raspberry were my favorites. The tasting also included jellies made from the wine. The what'ta pair was our favorite. We purchased three bottles and jelly. The tasting area looks out to the water for a fabulous view. Behind the tasting area is a small shop with the wines, jellies, and wine accessories. It was a nice time and yummy too. We will probably return on our next trip to MA.
We planned our anniversary weekend based on this winery. We first visited this winery (or first MA winery) last year. The owners, Mike and Pam, are beyond friendly and hospitable. When picking a location for a weekend trip, I knew we had to go back. We were welcomed back and stocked up on cases of the delicious wines for the holidays. They also have a great selection of jelly "dips"made from their wines. I would definitely return to this winery time and time again!!!
Definitely worth stopping in to taste some East Coast wine. The owner is very friendly and informative. They have lots of wine knick knacks for purchase at reasonable prices. I enjoyed the experience of trying different wines than I'm used too. I purchased two different types. One was Blueberry Bay which is the closest to Merlot that they have. I thought it was very good. The other was Cranberry Bay which I thought would be a fun conversational wine for our Thanksgiving dinner. What could be better than drinking wine from a place where the first Thanksgiving was held? Great stop in if you have the time. Conveniently located right on the main street, anyone can point you in the direction. They also ship and will hold your wine while you explore Plymouth.
My fiance and I recently spent a week in Plymouth, and when I was looking up things to do, I just knew we had to stop by this winery and do a tasting, that's one of our favorite things to do when we are traveling. We walked by one night, just to check what their hours were, and the owner was just closing up. He invited us in for a few minutes, just to apologize that he couldn't stay open late that night, and made us promise to come back for a free tasting the following day. Of course we couldn't say no to that!We returned the next afternoon for the tasting, and tried just about every wine they had, plus several of the jellies. The wines were unique and excellent in our opinions....meaning that they tasted good to us. We don't consider ourselves wine snobs, we like a sweet wine just as well. We had a great time chatting with the owner, and enjoyed the time spent there. Part of the tasting included choosing a stemmed or stemless wine glass, and the stemless ones are now part of my collection. We picked up 2 bottles of wine, and intend to order more soon, or go back when we get the chance! If you are in Plymouth, definitely take an hour and go visit this winery, it's a great way to spend some time!
Great wines, Great owners. Very friendly, took time to sample the wines but he gave us ideas for food pairings, recipes, and drink ideas. Well worth the trip!! We will definately be back. They also have nice gifts and some awesome jeelies made from the wines.
Our visit to the Plymouth Bay Winery was very enjoyable. The owners are so very pleasant and warm. The wines were FANTASTIC! Unique , simple yet complex flavors. It was $5 for a complete tasting with souvenir glass to take home ($6 for a stemless glass)
The owner is an affable gentleman who makes you feel at home. You get to taste 10 wines for 5 or 6 dollars depending on the type of glass you choose. This winery offers a lovely adventure for your palate since the wines are unique with the type of fruit that they use; with names like Blueberry Bay, Cranberry Blush and Colonial Red (grapes from Concord Massachusetts) you get the idea. This wine tasting is a fun way to enhance your day. The owners share a variety of recipes that you can use to create new drinks or cook with. Plymouth Bay Winery also gives suggestions on food pairings for optimal enjoyment. Don’t forget to try their line of wonderful jellies when you are there. It would be very easy to create lovely specialty gift baskets. We left with a lot of liquid treasure!
