Excellent view of Plymouth Harbour and bay. Steep climb up stairs to top. Site of first fort of Pilgrims. Several revolutionary war heroes buried here.

Very historic. Even though Mayflower passengers might be buried there, the stones are gone. Many of the family of those passengers are still there as well as markers honoring the Mayflower passengers.

take the time to read the dates and sayings on America's oldest graveyard! We felt like we were on hallowed ground!

Burial hill is a peaceful cemetery on a hill overlooking the small harbor of Plymouth. We wanted to find William Bradford's grave, as we are descendants, and it wasn't too hard to locate. It's a beautiful location - a few people were picnicking -- it doesn't seem overdone or structured, and, aside from the historic value, you'd probably have to like cemeteries or have a grave you wanted to locate for this visit to have any meaning. I loved it.

While I have lived in the area quite a bit throughout my life, I had not taken the time to go to the burial ground. My son and I decided to go to Plymouth the day after Thanksgiving (Yes the women in the house went Black Friday Shopping!). We had watched the movie monumental two nights before so it inspired us to look at more of the historic parts of Plymouth. My son and I both enjoy history and did enjoy going through one of the oldest grave yards in America. It would be nice if there could be something done to restore some of the gravestones, etc. but it is still a good place to enjoy American History.

This cemetery holds some of the oldest graves in the US. The word Hill is an understatement though! It is a huge hill and I wondered if it was always like that. To get bodies up there must have been quite a chore! It is beautiful and peaceful up there though and you can see the ocean from up there. It was also the site of the first fort. Worth a stop.

This historical site is in need of attention. This the place were the pilgrims are buried, where the first fort was and an outstanding vantage point of Plymouth harbor and beyond. Gravestones are tipped over, there is litter, and hobos are living around the graveyard. I am not sure who maintains this historical site, but needs immediate attention. Its America's History.

Take a stroll around this cemetery, full of names and tales of Pilgrims yesteryear. Nicely laid out and the site of the original first fort. Also lovely views across the bay.

Here you will find graves dedicated to several of the founding members of the Plymouth Colony including John Carver and William Bradford, as well as the (probable) location of the original watchtower and (possible) location of the first fort built by the pilgrims within weeks after they landed at Plymouth Rock in 1620. Amazing.You will also find fascinating gravesites and wonderful epitaphs of some of the earliest settlers of Plymouth and an incredible view of Plymouth Bay in the bargain.

I know most of you don't think cemetery are beautiful, but this was.The trees were grand!Autumn is great for viewing this hill, great colors in the trees.Take your time and walk around,there is a great tree to view.

Burial Hill was located across the street from the Jenney Museum and there was free parking behind the Museum. We were able to take the walking tour from the Museum and walk around town and see the attractions. It was really cool seeing the old tombstones. Some of them are so old you have a hard time reading the names, but it was worth the walk up the hill.

I wanted to rate this cemetery because I found out that my family is descended from William Bradford and I knew he was buried there. It was nice visiting his final resting place. It overlooks the bay and is a nice place to ponder the sacrifices he and the other Pilgrims made to settle in the "New World."

If you are interested in old tombstones, history, names, etc., this is the place for you. It does take some energy to wander along the paths' ups and downs. Glad we made the trek

I love this old cemetery! So much history and great views of Plymouth Harbor here. It is a climb up some steps or a long driveway but I wandered around in there for quite some time!
