The museum is small and sits in a very historical building. But it is packed with early American history. There is a nifty gift shop and they show an informative film in the basement. There are a number of other historical attractions within easy walking distance. Parking is free!
Went on a Sunday and was pretty quite at 9:00 AM. there was a staff member to answer questions. when you go don't forget to go the the basement for a 20 show on the history on the city parks of the US.
It has a wonderful gift shop! It is a good place to take children, spend a rainy afternoon. And it is such a beautiful building.
Nice little national park location with books and other items. They also have a quick 20 minute movie about the Adams that is enjoyable.
This local Historic Society houses a great peek into what makes Quincy special. Photos and objects. Great building, too. No fee but donation.
My husband and I stopped here not really sure where we were going in Quincy, and I am sure glad we did! It is a very neat, local Historical Society that is housed in an old boys school where John Hancock was raised. We learned A LOT about the Adam's and the Quincy Adam's--including many artifacts and clothing from the family. There is even a Revolutionary-style chair owned by Abigail herself....I thought that to be something only the Smithsonian had. Aside from the very-well laid out museum, we found out the many well-known, national businesses were started in Quincy. (I'll let everyone find out for themselves which ones!) The ship-building history of Quincy was interesting too. Well done! Be sure to visit the small git shop. Free, but a donation is happily accepted.
