We had the pleasure of staying at Jacobs Hill Inn for 6 days this month ( Oct) , only wish it could have been longer !!It was way from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but near enough to major sightseeing venues, that travelling to and from them was not a problem.50 miles in any direction you could find something that suited your tastes, whether it be Boston, Cape Cod, Newport even downtown Providence.Bill and Eleonora were the consummate hosts. Full of knowledge of the surrounding areas, no request was too large or too small for them. The room ( Plymouth Suite) was absolutely fabulous. Eleonora and Bill had upgraded us prior to our arrival, it was such a lovely surprise and gesture.Should we be able to go back to New England our first port of call would be Jacobs Hill Inn.Absolutely loved it.PS if you are a petrol head ask to see their 1988 Jag and Pontiac Firebird ( Wow) PPS how many marbles are in the bottle Bill ?
If you are looking for a quiet moment after a long day of work or walk, this is the right place to stay and to rest !After a quiet night spent in this place surrounded by woods, you might be lucky enough to see deers, hawks or squirrels as you open the curtains. The huge park is a real refuge for the wildlife. Then your day will start with one great breakfast served by the lovely Eleonora and Bill. We just adored everything they served, ranging from fresh pressed orange juice to homemade granola. We spent 4 days in the Vanderbilt Suite on June this year and it is the most memorable place we ever stayed in the United States. We are really looking forward to coming back to this place. Just too bad we live in France…You can find some photos I took there, and these might say more than words !
The atmosphere and location are lovely, the attention to historic detail is amazing, Bill and Eleanora have done a fantastic job of restoring and including modern conveniences like automatic coffee machine available all day. The grounds are beautiful and the location so close to Providence it was very easy to get around with the help of the great directions we got from them. They provided us with a take-away breakfast on the day we needed to leave early, there was always a cheese tray in the fridge for us. It was a very enjoyable and unique stay and we will happily stay again.
A friend and I had the great fortune of being guests for breakfast and tour of this beautiful inn. Bill and Eleonora, the inn keepers were so very welcoming and tended to every detail making breakfast a very special meal. The custom made mugs, wonderful coffee, fresh fruit, home made granola and banana nut muffins were just the beginning! The breakfast entree was hearty and delicious too. Their enthusiasm for providing every comfort was demonstrated over and over during our tour of the inn. The suites are so inviting, and the common areas so well appointed- even though I live locally, I want to come stay at the inn! And they are so knowledgeable about the history of the property, it's early owners and activities that went on - it was like a really fun history lesson!Definitely a very special place, for a special occasion.
We would highly recommend Jacob Hill Inn. Bill & Eleanora are wonderful hosts. We stayed in the Vanderbilt suite which was absolutely perfect in every way. We will be back for sure. Service was excellent. Any area information you require is available. Breakfast was yummy! The rich history of the property and buildings was interesting to hear.
We need to go back there soon. It was an ideal setting with superb service and wonderful surroundings.
I am not prone to writing reviews but I simply cannot say enough wonderful things about The Jacob Hill Inn of Seekonk, MA. Not only is it a magnificent five-star Bed and Breakfast, it is also as a place of significant historic interest. Long ago, the property was built by the Allyn Family, a name well known to Seekonk residence. It was then purchase by Jacob Family for which it is named. After remaining in the Jacob family for a century, it was purchased and updated by the Grosvenor's and they sold it to the Jacob Hill Hunt Club Inc. Vanderbilt, Chaffee, Gladding, Firestone.....do any of these names sound familiar? They were all members of this club! Hosts Bill and Elenora Rezek have preserved and decorated the place with many of the items from the Hunt Club. It is fascinating to see all the pieces of history exquisitely displayed. Unlike the roped off rooms in a dusty museum, you share a perfectly preserved moment in history and walk where some of the giants of our nation gathered to relax and enjoy the countryside.Whether you're looking for an extraordinary place to stay, great food or a wonderful piece of history, The Jacob Hill Inn has it all.Kasey R. Seekonk, MA
My husband and I have spent a number of long weekends in the comfort of Historic Jacob Hill Farm. The breakfasts are to die for -- do not miss the granola -- and the hosts are terrific. After a particularly harrowing drive through torrential rain, Bill and Eleonora greeted us at the door with much needed glasses of wine and sincere concern. They have made dinner reservations for us and given us tips on places to visit and local activities. Better inn keepers do not exist. Our favorite accommodation to date is the Boston room. However, the rooms are highly individualized; there is something for everyone's taste. We are always happy to arrive and sorry to leave. And at some point during the ride back to Pennsylvania, one of us always remarks, "That was great; let's go back."
