The trails here are very manageable, even for my arthritic knee. You can get a work-out, but nothing too strenuous. The house itself is rarely open except for parties and weddings, but it's beautiful if you can get inside. We like to walk for a while and then set up some chairs and read in the peace and quiet when the weather allows.

We attended our friends' wedding at Stonehurst recently. What a lovely setting, great staff, and memorable event. Marcia, the estate manager was AMAZING. I was the officiant at the wedding and found her to be an incredible person to work with.

I frequent Stonehurst often. It is quiet, has an outstanding Mansion that one can go into as it's a museum. Also many trails for you and a four legged companion can walk. Or walk alone. The foliage and fauna is spectacular and a nice place to picnic.

Massive grounds great place for dogs to have "playdates" while owners chat or just sit, relax & enjoy watching the "pups @ play"

We were staying at the Embassy Suites in Waltham, and Stonehurst was on our way from the hotel to Cambridge, so we just stopped by. The house was closed, in spite of the fact that we were there during regular business hours. The house looks intersting from the outside, but inside it was empty - or at least that's what I was able to see through the windows. It may be good place to rent for an event, but as a place to visit specifically - doesn't worth the time. If you do come - remember that eople use nearby trails as a dog park, and they don't leash the dogs, so be aware.
