Monet!

So many different things to see! Much more than I expected. Lovely paintings ( my main interest) and a great lunch outside.

visited with young grand children (7 and 9) last month. I was not sure what to expect (having last visited some 20 years ago) but we were delighted with the professional presentation and condition of the museum. The admission price was very moderate and the amenities included a cafe and gift shop. My only disappointment was the very limited, but well done, display of knights and armor from the former Higgins armory. The armory had hundreds and hundreds of pieces yet the museum displayed perhaps a few dozen. Each gallery was nicely done with professional docents who obviously cared about their positions and were more than willing to engage us in meaningful conversation about the art work. Nicely done WAM!

Well-curated regional museum with a good representation of most European eras of painting. Nice gift shop and very friendly staff.

Whenever I have guests from out of town I always bring them here. Many years ago one friend upon visiting was amazed at how wonderful this museum was and asked me how many people lived in Worcester. This museum is a gem. The Flora in Winter is an especially nice escape for people as local clubs and florists design floral arrangements using a painting as a guide.

The Worcester Art Museum is a lovely museum in a small city. Almost as good as the MFA in Boston, though much smaller. For some people, this is better, because it can be seen in a day. Great exhibits as well.

I think it's first Saturday of the month, and must enter before noon, but it's free - it's even worth the $ if it's not that time - amazing artists - I've brought my children as youngsters and they totally enjoyed themselves

This is a small, but nonetheless, beautiful museum with many significant works and an impressive gallery. I've been visiting since I was a child and always look forward to the next visit. The special exhibits are wonderful such as their presentation last year of the "60's". The photographs, sound clips, and videos took me right back. Extremely enjoyable. Their incorporation of the pieces from the former Higgins Armory is a work in progress, but promises to keep this impressive collection available for the public's pleasure for years to come.

Always good ,but now that they've added the Higgins armor it's even better. Great way to spend an afternoon. The docents are friendly and helpful. Nice gift shop.

Eerily empty and an undistinguished collection. Dusty relic of the past, and it appears their classes are overpriced for the economic level of the community.

Not to be compared with major museums like Boston or Guggenheim in NYC, this is a lovely small museum just off the highway in Worcester, MA. They have events and varying exhibits so check what's in house during your visit. The museum building itself is lovely and easy to navigate, there is an elevator as well but it's quite walkable. Don't miss the gift shop which offers very nice items, but if you need lunch or coffee, check the cafe hours or plan to visit somewhere else nearby before or after your visit. Parking is decent, mostly behind the museum.

Whether you're looking for American art, modern art, sculpture or classical European painting, you'll find a fine selection of great art here in downtown Worcester. Located a few blocks from Lincoln Square and Worcester Tech, this mid-sized museum has combined the old Higgins armor collection with the bequests and purchases that have been accumulated for over a century. The building is well laid out with no over crowding of exhibits. I was especially impressed by the huge mosaic from ancient Antioch. We spent the better part of a day here and didn't see everything so a return visit is a must.

If you're in Worcester and have a few hours to spare, check this place outIt is a small museum and you can see everything in 2 to 3 hours, but what they have is excellent, with works by artists such as Picasso, Monet, Gaugin, Copley, Warhol among many others. There were also works from China, ancient Rome, Egypt, Medieval Europe, MesoAmerica and India along with a fantastic Roman mural in the first room in the museum. There wasn't a lot from each, but instead a nice sampling. Also, they have the complete collection from the now (sadly) defunct Higgins Armory (though not the entire collection of arms and armor is sadly not on display but plenty was there)There was also a courtyard but I did not check it out as the weather was lousy

W.A.M has truly great exhibits from all types of artists. I can spend all day here and still be interested by all the wonderful works, all bases are covered here! You can come here with any art perspective and still appreciate are the varied works.

Spent two+ hours and was exhausted by the end. The African Child Soldiers, the Strange Art exhibit, and the permanent collection took most of the time, although the Knights thing was pretty intense in its own way. Strangely morbid themes provide an undercurrent to this entire museum, and why not. Wow.
