Nantucket is all about the arts, and the Theatre Workshop of Nantucket is one of the high points. It's a gorgeous little theater in the heart of downtown where you'll find professionally done shows, theatrical readings and just a great arts vibe. If you love live theater, you have to check out a show here.

Regularly sold out productions. Best quality theatre you'll find in New England. Varied season and productions. A must see experience when you visit Nantucket!

I've been to many productions that Theatre Workshop has had and each one has been terrific! It has been a wonderful sharing with friends and family. Can't wait to see another show!!

Awesome job! I was initially dubious about a summer play at $30/person, but it was definitely worth it! The singing was very good, the acting truely in character and the overall performance was well done. The set was simple and fitting for the plot, The theater was comfortable and a good view from every seat. There were children to elderly, all left with a smile. I am glad we went, and I would go again.

so every year i try to catch a show here. this year we saw Black Tie and i was left disappointed. at 30 dollars a head i was hoping for more than an entire show with no scene change, semi stretched acting and a not so funny script. oh well, you win some you lose some. Annie was still the best by far.

While visiting Nantucket we decided to catch a performance at the local theater. We saw Black Tie which was so well done. Nice small theater in the basement of a church. A nice little surprise.

Great show put on by locals . Very nice theatre venue, great stage design. Seemed like half of Island children were in play. It was a great experience for my wife and I. We will go again next time on Island. We have been to other plays here and they have been very well done as well. Highly recommend when here. We Visited on thanksgiving weekend and saw Saturday show.

the staging, actors performances and special effects made this a terrific play. Prices are reasonable an the actors are top notch. Come early for good seats.

Production of Wizard of Oz at Bennett Hall at Congregational Church was very successful. The scarecrow and the wicked witch were standouts, but all the other roles were well done, Dorothy was larger than life, and the various troops of children marshalled for the group parts were well drilled and charming. The aerial stunts made for high production values, which were already there anyway. A touching performance, with a live Toto.

We attended The Wizard of Oz and absolutely loved it. Very well done by local talent and it was fun to be in an audience of locals as well.

ive learned that nantucket isnt only about shopping and beaching. i come enough now to look for other things to keep me occupied and im thrilled to enjoy the shows here year after year. last year we loved Annie, and this year I chose Dead Man's Cell Phone. a bit morbid but quite a funny dramady. im was happy to have seen it with a great cast of talented actors. cant wait to see whats on for next year!!

Theatre Workshop of Nantucket's excellent rendition of John Guare's "Six Degrees of Separation" is not to be missed. The intelligent script gives the audience much to ponder about the role of class, race, imagination, reality and perception. Director Kate Splaine brings out the talents of the actors in this well-staged production. Annie Breeding and John Devaney play Louise and Flan, an upper middle-class couple conned by "Paul", a mysterious young black man who claims to be at Harvard with their children. Their chemistry between Breeding and Devaney brings the audience intimately, sometimes uncomfortably so, into their living room as they struggle with a wide range of emotions resulting from their interactions with Paul, who especially beguiles the sensitive Louisa. Chris H. Holland as Paul is alternately intelligent, vulnerable, sensual and sinister. He casts his spell convincingly in a wonderful performance. An excellent supporting cast rounds out the performance and the script gives each actor a scene in which to shine. It is theater at its best.

The theater is lovely and a nice size with a great layout for sightlines Would definitely see another play there. However, the play we saw was not so great . It was a bit over-acted and spotty. It did give us an evening out on a rainy night so not a terrible experience.

i was a bit hesitant to go see any show but with the weather not being the beach kind, we decided to take our chances with Annie. You wont be dissapointed! first of all the show was sold out, truly a surprise. and the production itself was fantastic. the actors were amazing and the scenery was spectacular. cant wait to come back!

Recently saw the Theater Workshop of Nantucket production of Time Stands Still. Enjoyed the performance and felt that the actors did a good job of presenting the dilemma faced by the main characters, i.e., balancing their journalistic ethics/commitment and danger with personal comfort and security. So great that Nantucket can support a theater company!
