This outlet malls extra large. There is plenty of parking. However there is a lot of outside walking. So if your going in the winter months dress warm.
This extremely large outlet mall is designed across a huge space and multiple buildings. You will be outdoors whenever you exit a store; walkways are generally covered. There is plenty of parking, including "overflow" lots, but be prepared to walk - and walk, and walk. Benches are few, so this is not the best location if you cannot trudge from store to store. Even though there is plenty of space this mall has few restaurants on the perimeter of the property, making dining inconvenient. Restrooms can be hard to find and perhaps not enough for such a sprawling mall. However it is located just off Highway 70, offers something for just about anyone. Great bargains depend on the store and the shopper's knowledge of expected pricing. Selection is usually very good. Expect large crowds and buses during the winter holidays.
Really stopped to use the food court. Good selection for lunch. Pizza, burgers, chinese, Dairy Queen. Clean eating area. Stand with coffee and french macarons for dessert, if you didn't go for DQ.
First time visiting..... it was cold and there were a ton of people shopping for Christmas. It was a nice experience but some of the stores seemed really small and there weren't a lot of benches to sit down at for handicapped people. I have had back surgery and have a lot of problems with my gait/balance so having somewhere to rest is imperative -- but there weren't many places for that since it was winter time I guess. Parking lot was horrible, the aisles were a bit on the smaller side and they had a good section of the outlet mall blocked off from driving, so that was annoying. Overall, it was an okay experience -- I really just prefer Tanger Outlets I guess.
I don't feel the deals are as good as they used to be a couple years back. People think they are getting great deals because they are going to the "outlets", but if you shop on-line you don't have to waste gas.
This is a very nice Outlet Mall. Somehow the outdoor experience makes you feel like it is really Christmas time. I dont get that feeling in an indoor mall.
Having visited Leesburg Premium Outlet Mall in VA, I was inclined to visit Hagerstown mall in MD as well. Considering that Leesburg can get really crowded, Hagerstown offers a nice alternative. Snuck away in Hagerstown, this outlet mall offers its own unique charm. It does not have as many stores as Leesburg but makes up for it by having some unique stores that are not available there. Overall, its a great mall with almost all major brands that you would look for.Pros:1. Amazing variety of brands ~90 shops!2. Easily accessible from western MD (~50 mins drive).3. If you are a AAA member, make sure to pick up the $5 VIP coupon booklet for FREE!4. Ample parking space, although it can get crazy during festive shopping season.
We visited the outlet today since I was off for veteran day. Some of the stores had 50% off the entire store (coach and jones new york). Also if you are a veteran picked up extra coupons at guest center which in one store it was worth an additional 25% off the 50% sales price. Each store that participated had their own discount. Great location for an outlet right off I 70 in Hagerstown md.
Went on a warm October day. The stores are all well kept and its a good mix of outside and walking. Today it smelled like horse $&@*. I assume this was from a nearby farm. We had to go in stores to get a break from the extremely intense smell. We will return and shop here whenever we are in the area.
These outlets were a great place to stop. We were able to find what we needed quickly and easily and there were good deals on our required purchases! The grounds were spotless, even though we were there during the early evening hours.
Some nice stores here. A few are expensive, but the Longenberger and Oops stores had good deals. More importantly, it is safe to shop there. We went the 1st of 2 trips at 8:00 pm. Even not many people were there, you did not feel like there was any danger to worry about.
Fairly new. Looks pretty clean and appealing from Hwy. Women in group planned to go on girls day out, but ran out of time.
Stopped for a couple hours during a drive from the east coast - the shops were well stocked with the normal outlet choices - the facility was well cared for and clean - easy access on and off the highway. This would be a good place to burn some time to avoid traffic going north into Breezewood during rush hours.
We stayed overnight in MD on our way to VA Beach to do some back to school shopping. It was your average outlet mall. Nothing to travel any great distance for. The one we have in Niagara Falls blows it away! It was clean and easy to get to. They had a food court but there wasn't anything unique or interesting enough to keep us there long enough to get hungry. We hit our usual favorites (minus a couple they didn't have) and went to another mall to find what we were missing. It was ok, but could be better.
I took my teenage son back to school shopping here for clothing during Maryland Tax-Free Week (August 10 - August 16). With no taxes, I bought myself some apparel as well. The following are the shops that items were purchased at and the deals we got:1. Zumiez - 2 pairs of jeans for my son (buy 1, get 2nd 50% off) and 1 shirt for my son - saved $32.47. The jeans my son picked out were like the only ones in the store that weren't actually on sale, but they honored the sale for us anyway.2. PacSun - 2 shirts for my son (buy 1, get 2nd 50% off) - saved $12.55. This is a pretty good price for 2 shirts for a teenage boy. I'm certainly not complaining.3. American Eagle Outfitters - 1 belt for me (25% off), 2 pairs of jeans for me (on sale for $29.99 each from $44.95 each), and 1 shirt for my son (on sale for $14.99 from $24.99) - saved $54.55. When we were there, they were selling any pair of jeans for under $30. There were plenty of employees working to provide us help.4. Nike Factory Store - 1 gym shirt for son and 1 gym shorts for son (no sale just tax savings) - saved $3.48. Nike was out of the type of shoes my son wanted. Nike was out of the size of preferred gym shorts and shirt my son wanted. Nike employees shouted in unison and clapped and made a lot of noise for someone's birthday. This was extremely disturbing as I was trying to talk to my son about what apparel to choose there and we couldn't hear each other so we were forced to wait until they were finished. Then, we had to stand in a very long line when we were ready to check out. This was by far the worst store we visited at the Outlets.Total savings: $103.05 thru sales and no taxes.
