loved the Aloft hotel, best hotel in the area especially the staff. The movies was great , clean and not over bearing like some.
Nice place, but a bit gimmicky. Paid a fortune for the XD Experience. Comfortable seats, and outstanding sound system, but not sure worth $27 for two tickets. See it in a regular theater with little difference for less.
The Cinemark in Arundel Mills is one of the biggest movie houses around. They have a pretty smooth operation, been when it is not so smooth. (On a recent visit, they were unable to process our passes at the box office, so directed us to Guest Services. The manager there was running into the same problem, but apologized and handled the situation with grace and aplomb.) It has 24 screens so will have all the recent blockbusters, but also shows popular Bollywood films and has a Classic revival series and Fathom events (Operas, MST3K, etc.,) Some popular events have lines that form in front of the theater. We usually hang out at the Buffalo Wild Wings across the way where we can keep an eye on the line. The only real downside is the mall itself. However you may feel about the mall, now that the casino is there parking will almost always be a chore and you can expect to walk a long ways around a lot of people.
The visuals as you walk in are fantastic! LOL! Theatres are usually so mundane, but this one is fun. There are also places to get a meal right there next to it. Also, you can buy your tickets early and then shop around. The seating is comfortable.
It is located right in the front of Arundel Mills as you exit MD-100. There is a Buffalo Wild Wings right beside it along with the Valet parking service (5.00) fee. I urge you to go on a Tuesday ALL day they offer ONE fee for ALL movies….and the EARLY BIRD (first showing of the day) is a discounted rate too. You can order from your phone, online and kiosks are in the lobby where you can print your tickets. The ticket windows seem to go rather swiftly to pay in person. As you enter the main theater lobby……a vast selection of food items and drink items are available for purchase. The prices of the food items, almost always prompts us to SKIP it here and walk across the hall to BWW for an after movie treat and get a MEAL for the price of popcorn & nachos/soda here. The bathrooms, allow you to enter from either side which "confuses" some patrons. The actual movie theater is typical fare, dark, high back comfy seats, arm rests with holders..etc. Although there is a section for handicap seating…it seems to be a rather small section. They have PARTY rooms adorned with the egyptian on the walls & (Im guessing…) with the party packages too.It seems like an inordinate amount of promos are shown here not to mention the survey staff that is at the exit doors at virtually EVERY movie here. We typically aim to make the first showing of the day to ensure we secure prime parking. PARKING is the single most challenging element of going to see a movie here. Far too many times, the parking lot is full all the way out to the outermost edges of the parking lot; thus forcing many to pay the valet fee.
It is a good theater experience though pricey as compared to other theaters in the area. The food has a good selection but it is pricey too. Better to eat somewhere in the mall first before the movie.
Cinemark is a great place to watch a movie. The seats are comfortable, and it is usually not sold out. Arrive early for previews and sneak peeks at what's going on in entertainment. Bring a jacket or a small blanket if you are prone to feeling cold. The theater runs on the cold side, especially in the summer when you might be wearing shorts and sandals. The food is over-priced. Get a small popcorn and soda and leave it at that - or skip the concessions all together. It can be loud as well so turn down the hearing aid until the sound adjusts for the movie. Many times the previews are a lower volume than the actually movie, causing quite a shock when the full Dolby sound comes on.
The movies are nice at this theatre. Sometimes the sound is a little loud, but that is the movie theatre experience. Of course the larger rooms are best, but the smaller rooms are adequate.High back chairs are very comfortable, even if the theatre is aging a little.
This theatre was built over 10 years ago and it is showing it's age in the chairs. The food service is hit or miss; depends on who is working.
They have it decorated like ancient Egypt, hence the name. Other than that, it's like any other movie theater with expensive snacks and drinks. The do have special events once in a while where you can go watch a special selection, which can be fun.
It's not a luxury theater but it's never crowded and that is what matters. Never had a problem here and they do Groupons from time to time which I LOVE.
There are simply a ton of movie offerings here, and it's a nice theater! It's conveniently located and offers valet parking, if you don't feel like trekking through the lot, on packed nights. Caveat: go to the bathroom, before you arrive at the show. On busy nights, the bathrooms are sometimes absolutely disgusting!
4 stars for decor aesthetics and truly comfortable seating, large theaters & state of the art video & sound. The theater falls short of the 5th star when pitted against its out of state comparators. There is no option for reserved seating, and the food choices are somewhat limited. In addition to standard fare (popcorn, chicken strips/wings, hotdogs, fries, candy, soda, nachos), the theater also offers a Starbucks-like coffee station (the coffee doesn't really taste like authentic Starbucks) and a hand-scooped ice cream option. Often, this specialty area is understaffed. It's always overpriced. The hot food items come pre-boxed and/or pre-packaged. This promotes efficiency, but causes some loss of optimal texture. I've visited theaters offering shrimp baskets, funnel cakes, pretzel dogs, crabcakes, alcohol & more. I don't even actually recall this theater selling pizza, although perhaps it does. For shameless rulebreakers, it may be good to know that this theater often shows little resistance to the introduction of outside food & drink. Right outside the theater, there's a beverage machine that takes credit cards and vends bottled coke products (also sold inside the theater) for $1.50 each. The theater's location, anchoring the area's largest outlet mall, situates it within a short, indoor walk from the mall's food court and numerous favorites like Auntie Annes pretzels & Cinnabon. Parking is available right outside the theater's entrance, but is most plentiful before the theater's first and last showings daily. Weekends, this place is a madhouse. Parking's at a premium and even the valet service often appears overwhelmed. Do yourself a favor and visit on a weekday evening or weekend first matinee. Overall, I really enjoy this theater and visit at least once every one or two months. If I'm going to see a huge Hollywood action blockbuster, especially in 3D -- I'd see it here.Oh! One other thing -- the bathrooms have really deep stalls so they feel luxuriously roomy. The stalls are also plentiful, so there's almost never a line, but I'm a little bummed they took out the paper towel dispensers, replacing them with too-few air dryers.
The only negative thing I can say about this place is the popcorn and other food prices are outrageous. We usually bring a bottle of soda to save a couple of bucks. The popcorn is great but expensive. Our observation is that people spend more on snacks than on the price of admission. Valet parking is available if you get tired of looking for a parking space.
This cinema theater is a very comfortable environment. The seats were plush and roomy. I would recommend this theater to everyone.
