Yes, every year we get a tree here. Normally we cut it down. In 2013 we just bought one that was already cut because we had a new baby and cutting one down would prove too difficult with a baby and two kids under 5. I have never found squirrel or varmint or bugs or spiders (remember that spiders are not insects and therefore not bugs) in the trees we have acquired here. Last year we also visited in the fall and the corn maze was too complicated for me but I don't harbor ill will towards the designers. I love Gaver and I believe that it rhymes with saver not haver.

My wife and I have visited Gaver Farm the past few years to get our pumpkins for Halloween, and always have a wonderful time there. The property includes a corn maze, as well as lots of activities for both kids and adults, though it is mostly designed with children in mind. My wife and I have no kids, but we do enjoy looking at all the animals and playing some of the games, then taking a tractor ride to the pumpkin fields to find our perfect pumpkin for carving that night. They also sell pre-picked pumpkins and other fall accessories if you would rather get those. The food is average, nothing special however their apple-spiced doughnuts are rather tasty. All in all, I would highly reccoommend this for families with young children who enjoy running around and getting a close look at animals and feeding some goats!

My first trip with grandchildren was a recent birthday party (on a beautiful Saturday). The farm is so large, I don't understand how anyone could say it was too crowded. Everyone on the staff was friendly, helpful and interested in making our party a success. Prices were not high. Food was terrific (especially the doughnuts!).

If I could rate it 3.5 stars that might be a better rating. For at least 7 years my family have been going to Gaver farm for the Fall Festival activities as well as cutting our own Christmas tree down. The first 5 years , I would say a 5 star. Unfortunately, it is just getting so crowded, it is much harder to enjoy. Also, they must have a problem with theft, because two out of the three times we have bought mums, paid for them at the counter where we were supposed to and then they inform you to pick up the mums you want outside, well...my husband was stopped by the owner woman, saying "you need to pay for those". I am not sure if it is because my husband is brown-skinned or not, but we like to think not, since most of them are friendly to us...and since we do like going there. Cons: The prices have gone up, its not as relaxed...it seems as money making is more of the priority versus family owned, get to know your community and make some money too. It makes me a bit sad. This is the first year my husband and I feel like we need to find a new place for our tree. Also, last year, there were not many trees, we liked and ended up settling. Pros: Fall Festival- bouncing pillow, huge corn maze, slides galore, great fall festival activities, animals. TRY TO GO ON THE WEEKDAYS, its much less crowded and more fun! Although they have no hay ride or hot cider donuts on weekdays. Cons: weekends are crazy busy. Lines are long. more expensive. Christmas trees were not great last year, very small and not very full and lots of spider issues.

We could not make it to Gaver Farm before Halloween to pick up a pumpkin, but decided to go the first weekend in November and were not disappointed. They have tons of stuff to do and have added some new things this year like another big slide for the kids and a tractor ride that goes out into the Christmas tree farm that was really fun. They have good food choices and the corn maze was as hard as ever (we had to cheat to get out). We'll be back in a few weeks to get our Christmas tree.

Judging by the crowd there today, this is a super happening place. It has tons of things to do for the under 10 crowd. First up is the Jumping Pillow; a huge plastic pillow on which to, well, jump. The kids were having a grand old time. After that, anything goes. You can either head for the first slide, complete with burlap sacks for speed, or you can go straight to the enormous corn maze. After that, the sky's the limit. There are other slides to slide on and other mazes to amaze. Then come the animals. The only slight drawback is that it's obvious that the goats have had enough of the animal feed that they sell at the admission booth ($2.25 a cup). They could not have cared less about eating out of our hands. Never fear, though, if you just hold onto the cup for a bit longer, the alpacas will be happy to eat it. So will the pigs. The turkeys, chickens and ducks didn't seem to be interested and the calf was taking a nap, so we can't be sure about him. The baby goats (possibly miniature goats, I'm not sure) showed a bit more interest, too.At the top of the hill is a tractor train for the little ones, which my daughter loved, along with a couple more slides. There are also a pair of pedal cart rings; one for the little tykes with tricycles and a few smaller four-wheeled pedal carts and then there is the ring for the full-size pedal carts, which looked awesome and popular, judging from the waiting line.Having purchased our pumpkins earlier in the season, we skipped the hayride to the pumpkin patch but from the looks of it (you can see it from the top of the hill) it was hopping too. And if you didn't feel like hayriding it to the patch, you could purchase a parcel of plump pumpkins (say that 3 times fast) at the barn next to the entrance. There is also a Barn Grill for a snack during your busy day, and there were some folks holding a birthday party in the picnic area, so that's available too.All in all, Gaver Farm is a fantastic afternoon for a family in the fall. I cannot recommend it highly enough. Entirely worth the $8 entrance (tykes under 2 are free). Oh, and don't forget to grab some cider donuts. They are delicious!

We went last year with our 1-yr old. He liked it, but was hesitant. This year we went back -- took in the hay ride to the pumpkin fields, did some apple picking, ate lunch in the picnic area.... and of course part-took in the myriad of activities. As this was on the Columbus Day after 5-straight days of rain -- we braced ourselves for a big crowd. The grass/gravel parking lot was packed at 11:30 with 100+ vehicles, but this place is sooo big that you never feel crowded, don't have to 'wait' for the rides, and definitely feel that you get your money's worth.Lots of animals to pet --- cows, goats, sheep, pigs, chickens, alpaca, donkey, etc.... (and plenty of hand-santizer all around). They've gone and added more stuff ...- added more pop-ups (places to stick your head in and get a photo)- added another slide on the back-side of the main area- added duck-racing pumps (hilarious!)Food: traditional kids food + apple ciderParking: ampleAmbiance: Kids, lots and lots of kidsFee: $6 for anyone over 2 yrsStaff: Very friendly and helpfulOnly recommendation:- have at least 2 staff members walking the play area to ensure order, answer questions, etc..

We took our kids to Gaver Farm's Fall Festival and they loved it! Our older kids are 4 and 5 years old and Gaver farm was perfect for them. I was very impressed with the amount of activities as well as the affordable price ($6/person). They had 3 big slides, many kid mazes, tons of play structures, and many animals (goats, pigs, rabbits, chickens, peacocks, turkeys, alpacas, and a cow calf). They also had a hayride to the pumpkin patch to pick-your-own pumpkin (which was FREE). We also had lunch there and it was pretty good and affordable (great donuts!). The prices on pumpkins, gourds, apples, etc was very good as well. We visited on Columbus Day so they may have had a few activities going on that normally only happen on weekends.Overall, it was a great visit and was easily the best farm we have visited in the area. Any place that can keep 2 small children busy for over 4 hours is great!

Ok I could go days talking about how great this place is. We took our two kids here, one a tween and the other a toddler. This was one place they both had a great time together!!! We visited during the harvest festival. They were making fresh donuts and tons of other delicious food. There was an array of farm pets that the kids loved and were able to interact with. If the animal wasn't friendly, they posted a sign and there were hand sanitizing stations everywhere. Lots of activities...bouncing areas, slides, pedal rides, cow train, tractors, etc. So much fun!The pumpkin patch was beyond perfect. They gave you a hay ride to the patch and dropped you off to have time to pick a pumpkin and then returned to pick you up. They also had several wagons available if you needed something to haul your kids or pumpkins. So many things. Heads up they also have a TREE FARM for Christmas. SCORE :)
