We were always amazed at the Power of Water. To be on that Power and learning to navigate a a 42' sail boat... Sassy Dance: WOW!I never thought in my wildest dreams I could do that. With Captain Dave, I found out it was possible. Learning about nature and all it's beauty at our evening stops.. This stop was also a rewarding experience. We went to Wye Island on a dingy ( also a bucket list check off for me).The serenity and quietness of nature was over whelming. We saw trees that were over 200 years old and a Holly Tree that is 325 years old.So Back on the boat, we had supper on the deck and enjoyed the Beauty of the evening.Did you every see the reflection of all the stars on the water? WE DID.In closing, all I can say is, if you ever get the chance to book passage on the Sassy Dancer with Captain Dave. DO IT!You will not forget the experience for a long time.Thank you very much.Judy Boyer
My wife and I took a 3 day sail with Captain Dave, and had a great time! The accommodations were excellent, with a queen sized bed and private bath. The food was top notch as well; every meal was on deck and well prepared. We were very pleased that Captain Dave was so flexible in letting us choose where we wanted to go and which of the many highlights of the Chesapeake we would experience. In addition, he was willing to teach us about sailing and it became a great learning experience. Another aspect of the learning was the knowledge of the Chesapeake and its beauty and history that Captain Dave shared with us. The Chesapeake area with its many coves and quaint villages, farm fields, boats and sparkling waters is well worth seeing. Overall, it was a great adventure and we would recommend it highly!
Having newer sailed before and bringing my four grandchildren along could have been a recipe for disaster, boy did I get that wrong. Captain Fooks could not have been more wonderful! Within five minutes of coming on board we were all relaxing on deck. Captain Fooks allowed each grandchild an opportunity to "Sail" as well as continually pointing out both the historical and natural beauty of the Chesapeake. My grandchildren did not realize they were getting a mini history lesson as they were having to much fun. I can't wait to sail again, this time with adults. This is definitely a must trip on your calendar!
