Just like 9:30 Club, House of Blues, RamsHead Live, etc... this venue has two kinds of seating - General Admission and VIP. Like the title says -- after hearing so much about this place, I expected more.VIP has roped off areas in balcony.It's nice to see up-and-coming bands, bands trying to reinvent themselves, or bands who's prime have past in an intimate setting.Problem with The Filmore is that it's quite small - if you're not there to catch the opening acts, and arrive just for the "Main Act" - the one that sells the tickets.... then you're lucky to be pressed up against the back wall. If you do get there at "Doors Opening" expect to stand in a long line for any half-way decent act.Something needs to be done about the balcony view, which unless you have grand-stand (VIP) seats - the view sucks.Smoking area directly out front - ok - I guess.Staff - courteous, professional and quick.Coat check - downstairs and balcony. Shoot for balcony.Balcony bar remains most open. Main floor bars are impossible to access.Drinks - a bit over-priced. $17 for two craft beers, but what are ya' gonna do - 'captive audience'. I mean $7 for a Miller Lite - when the cost of a 6-pack is less. That's more than the airlines charge!Parking: Local garages nearby that are usually free after 6pm.

We have attending numerous concerts here, and always good experience ! Parking is close by and free in evenings. Seems like a fairly safe area. Many good bars close by. The venue is pretty large and can accommodate a lot of people. The drinks are a bit pricey, but typical for this type of venue. Staff here has always been pleasant. We will be returning in a few weeks.

A large venue right in downtown Silver Spring. Parking a block or so away. Multiple bars, with two floors for viewing the stage. Mostly standing room with the exception of some tables upstairs which you pay extra to access. Coat check and large restrooms. Good atmosphere for a concert, would come back again.

Cozy live music venue. Plenty of bar space, coat check and clean restrooms. Sure the band playing makes the most difference on the lasting impression. Free weekend parking within a block and several restaurants to choose from.

The filmore is a great place to see a band. I went on New Years to see Steel Panther and they were awesome. The have bars all over so you never have to wait long to get a drink. I would recommend the fimore if they have a band you want to to see.

I went there to see the Black Mass tour with Black Veil Brides. It was an amazing show. The drinks were good. They handed out water to the people along the rail. The venue is very nice with several bars to choose from. The only complaint is the doors opened up at 6 pm and it took us an hour to get in the door. It was a sold out show so you would think they would have opened the door earlier. We ended up missing one of the opening acts because it took us so long to get inside. Overall though it was a great place and I will definitely be going back to see more bands there!

Awesome venue to see a concert. All types of music pop rock metal hip hop. Intimate environment. Great sound and lighting. Standing room in front of stage. VIP seating in balcony. Excellent view anywhere in the house. Attentive wait staff. Looking forward to seeing more musical performances at The Filmore.
