Local new winery which offers good wine and local entertainment. View from site is pretty but finding the Winery can be confusing if using GPS. Look for the sign and it is a little bumpy going up lane.
We are working within our county's confines on providing a better bathroom solution. As a small vineyard and farm winery we put our effort and available funds into making our wine the best it can be. While our farm is perfect for grape growing it may be challenging for any one that has limited mobility to traverse our property's natural uneven terrain. This fact is never more true than in the winter following a snow storm. Our wines are available at many local liquor stores as posted on our website for the convenience of all customers.
Red Heifer is a new winery that is only two years old. You will need to use your GPS to find it since the only road sign is at the end of the winery's gravel driveway. The tasting room is small and the only facilities is a port-a-john. They are working on adding restrooms. The tasting fee is $5 for 5 wines or $7 for 7. The wines were a nice variety including a blueberry wine that was not overly sweet like most non-grape wines.Overall this is a nice winery with room to grow. I walked away with three bottles.
We are so glad you enjoyed your time at our small winery. Please feel free to visit again!
Delicious wines for an awesome price. Fantastic scenery and a romantic atmosphere. I would recommend taking the drive. The variety of red and white wines is small. The owners are friendly. Great place.
We are so glad you made a stop at our small winery this summer! How did our wine do traveling to the UK?
Smithsburg's crown jewel! Small town charm... with great mountain views... Live music Sunday. Tasty wines Red Heifer white, or Blueberry were our picks. Driveway is daunting... but worth it!
Visited with 6 friends and really enjoyed both they're wine and a picnic on the mountainside at they're tables. This Winery is only a little over two years old but already making a name for themselves, justifiably so. We tries 6 wines plus besides what we took home we also bought a bottle of their Blueberry wine for our picnic. Their wines were all nicely done and not the typical too sweet wines you see from some small wineries. They are on a south facing mountain side, good for grapes and lovely to sit at a table with a picnic lunch. Another group had the same idea as us and were already enjoying themselves when we arrived. Their Blueberry may sound sweet but it is only mild and worked perfect for eating with a variety of cheeses, apples, stuffed olives and baguette. The owner was fun and informative. We enjoyed talking about their experiences so far and plans. They will be starting a run of 15,000 bottles shortly from there casks. Do go and do yourself a favor, besides tasting, plan a picnic there.
We visited this winery to do a tasting. It's a bit tough to find, but they have some nice wines. They are a young winery and I would expect them to only improve as time goes on. The owner poured our tasting for us and told us about the name of the winery and the plans for the near future. We went on a cold day, but they had a few tables outside that would be nice for a picnic.
Well, since I'm the one who got Trip Advisor to make this a place on their site, I thought I'd be the first to review it, but that turns out not to be the case. However, that should tell you, dear reader, that it really is a great winery! We went on a September Sunday and were treated to superb wine and a great musical act. It was such a nice and relaxing time! We paid $5 I believe and got 5 samples ... I paid $2 extra and got to keep the glass. The wine is very nice. The setting is scenic and beautiful, but the road up to it is a bit of a scare. Highly recommend this small, new but wonderful winery!
