King Tuts tomb is alot smaller than most in the Valley of the Kings, and if youv'e ever seen his treasures in The Cairo Museum you wonder how it could have all fitted in. The mummy and sarcofaghus are amazing displays in this beautifully decorated chamber.I've given this a very good rating rather than an excellent one because I think it is relatively over expensive compared to the other tombs....but the romance of the story of "the boy king" seems to make it worthwhile.
Tomb is amazing as Tut's mummy is on display on the left and the carved granite tomb on the right. Seems so small to me and more so when you see the huge volume of treasures from the tomb on display in the Cairo Museum! Beautiful paintings still visible on the walls, yet time is taking its toll as mold is evident on the ceiling. We were told no photos and respected that even though a small bribe was asked for. It's a must!
King tut, in all his glory is still in there. looking small and frail, poor chap. the walls are beautiful, the tomb is small, but it's worth the money, completely worth the money!
This tomb is small but cute! It was probably the only intact tomb of an Ancient Egyptian Pharaoh. King Tutankhamun's mummy is on display inside, along with the gilded and painted walls of the Tomb.
You read about King Tut all your life, in school, in books. It never really hits you until you walk into his tomb. It takes your breath away. His body is to the left and his dwelling to the right. A quick bribe will always get you far in Luxor and this tomb is no exception. A few pounds will get you some pictures. Very special place. You must visit. Well worth the extra 100p
It is one of the only tombs that is open year round in The Valley of The Kings however like most tombs it is empty. What you will see is his mummy and the hieroglyphs but not much else. You will have to go the Museum of Antiquities in Cairo to see the full collection of King Tut items.
A small tomb, but very impressive. To see king tuts mummy was a extra bonus. Felt very overwhelmed to be in there. A very memorable experience. But be warned, the tomb guard begs for money.
I guess this place is one of the reasons that you visit the Valley of the Kings, it's probably the most well known of the Pharaohs, so please remember that the artefacts that were removed by Howard carter and Lord Caernarvon in 1922 are largely in the Cairo Museum or other location worldwide, so this is just about where the 'boy king' was laid to rest. It's a narrow entrance and you have to go down a small shaft into a small room with the mummy to your left and are shown his legs ( one is longer than the other). On the right is another small room with the kings sarcophagus, the Golden "Death Mask" is in the Cairo Museum but your guide will have pics on hand to illustrate this, ours did and was really knowledgeable and kept our focus on the room. Decoration can be seen on the wall but it is a small tomb compared to the others, The Hieroglyphs and wall paintings are the most impressive of those I've seen in the Valley of the Kings, but you need to see other tombs to understand the overall impact. But it is part of the overall tour of the Valley of the Kings and Queens and it is a place you will probably only visit once to embrace the experience and the culture and respect the locals and their unique history and you will be fine.
To enter the Tomb itself, they let in about 7 people at a time, to avoid overcrowding in an enclosed area. We were lucky that day as the 'Boy King' was there... BUT MY WIFE WOULD NOT LEAVE, first group left & the next group entered... But she still insisted that she would stay a little longer and TAKE IN THE extraordinary FEELING of being just a few feet away from this magic and the Gold coffin. She did leave eventually, and as the guards were so good to let her have "3 visits" they were awarded with a small 'Backshish - or Tip'.Thank you King Tut for a very memorable day... Sorry we overstayed our welcome.
Still inside his tiny, compared to others, tomb. His gold furnishings may have been to make due for his tiny tomb. The paintings are the most impressive of those I've seen in the Valley. A take away memory was the King's oh so delicate toes, after All these century's

Very little tomb with very little decoration - but what decoration! Vivid and clear in colours and as all other Egyptian art heavy in symbolism - in this tomb with a tender tone to it. The beautiful sarcophagus with one of the caskets are there and the mummy of the pharao as well. Nice touch that he is back in his place of rest.
A must see.You still get the feeling of the Carter team when they first broke through. The body is where it should be and makes you stop and think.Small tomb, but one of the best.
We all know of the name King Tutenkhamen better than all the other pharaohs so its a thing we must visit . The holders at the gate also know of its appeal so charge an extra 14 $ to see it. The tomb is not as big as some of the others and today the treasures found inside are in the Cairo museum. Its woth to see it so you know you have.
Considering the greatest treasure of all was out of this tomb is a shock when you see inside ,it's small and not much drawn inside but remember he died only 19yrs old hence the tomb .but it's still the mighty tomb of a great young famous pharaoh ,must be seen
