We have been to some other pubs in Sharm that were a great disappointment but VIVA is great. Football was on all the screens kept the men happy, the cocktails were great and kept the women happy. Wifi in the bar kept the kids amused so all in all was great for all ages, some nights was really busy during the day was bit quieter, the staff make you feel so welcome and have a chat with you and what I like best about this pub it doesn't try to be a ' Brit Pub', so many of the other bars advertise themselves as this in Sharm and fail miserably but VIVA doesn't do this. The prices are great, the location is great, the staff are great, the entertainment is great and the place itself is lively at night or quiet during the days so something for everyone. 5* all the way guys it will be good to come back and see you all again soon..
Looks nothing from outside but we had heard from the youngsters that it was worth a look and my friend's grandson had written his name on a board inside the door for that purpose. So being 'oldies' and feeling brave we climbed the stars and went in. Pleasantly surprised, football on the screens, different games on in different areas, good bar welcoming staff, peaceful at the time we went in, roomy, Staff helped us find the name and my friend wrote her name beside it, then we took photos to prove we had been there!
I get the distinct impression this bar comes alive in the evenings and small hours of the morning and so the side we have seem is very, very tame and different compared to what goes on then I’m sure! In fact I think on our last visit they had been open until 6 am the night before. I think this is because all the ‘all inclusives’ start charging after midnight (if your resort bar star open at all) and this night life is perhaps a bit more lively than what they have on offer anyway.I’ve been in the day and early evening for some excellent service while the football is on – seemingly any game in any language! I think in April we got to see the all-important Liverpool 3 – 2 Man City clash. This time in October is was Arsenal 2 - 0 Sunderland followed by Real Madrid (manager’s team) 3 – 1 Barcelona. We had planned to return for the 1-1 Man U Chelsea Clash the next day but our hotel had that one well covered. Anyway it’s great for footy and no doubt other sports too. On all 4 occasions the manager has been obliging and allowed us to pop downstairs to McDonalds and bring up burgers/fries/chicken nuggets that are much better and bigger than those served back home. Around the corner is the Hard Rock Café …. Bit lame if I’m honest and empty, pricey, not like the one in London and frankly would much rather have a beer here with a burger and fries from downstairs with one eye on the footy or (as my 9 year old son did) doing something on the ipad on the free wifi. No complaints with the drinks or prices. Bar staff all seem a very fun crowd and happy to let you do as you please. My wife was more than happy to leave us boys to it while she popped to the numerous handbag and purse sellers just up the road opposite the Hard Rock Café so, as a break from the resort, it has been win win now on I think all four occasions. At 2 am no doubt it’s a very different vibe (and not child friendly) but doubtless a cracking time! When we go to Nabq bay again, we will be popping in!!
