I had a quick visit of 3 to 4 hours to the park . It's near the airport and next to panari hotel. With a 4×4 car you can enjoy and see many animals like zebra, giraffes but unfortunately i didn't see lions.
I have been here several times but this is the first time I decided to go for the tour of the Nairobi national part with the kenyan wild life park staffs instead of the normal tour operators I always go with.Apart from seeing almost all the big five, I have for the first time good indept information and more knowledge of the animals and the park. I strongly recommend visitors to directly use the kenyan wild life park staff where it is possible for the park tour. I'm impressed. Keep the good work.
The National Park is close to town, it is worth doing. if you are lucky you can see the Big 5. One half-day excursion is enough
Nairobi National Park is very under-rated when compared to other larger game reserves. The park is quite small, but we found the game to be very plentiful and not shy at all when compared to other parks. A key feature of this park is the large number of both the native black rhino and the white rhino imported from South Africa. We got very up-close and personal on a couple of occasions. On one day we saw 8 rhino, including a photo with 6 together! You won't see elephant here but we got some good viewing of lions, plus the elusive serval cat. We stayed at Emakoko which I thoroughly recommend if you are visiting Nairobi. The only drawback to this park is it's proximity to Nairobi means that litter sometimes blows into the park and lodges in the thorny acacias, but it certainly doesn't detract from your visit.
Definitely a great place to go for an afternoon, as well as for visiting friends. There is a surprising amount of animals in the park and varied scenery. Of course, with any game drive, you always need a little bit of luck, but I've seen 7 rhinos in one day before! The orphanage is also a great place to visit but is rather pricey for tourists.
The secret of Nairobi National park is pure and simple, and get there early to see the lions having a kill or had a kill. Leopards are difficult to spot. Rhino are rare now.If you dont get there early you just going to have a ride in the bushes for the rest of the day. Best time to go is at 6am just before the gates open.
A national park in a city? Only in Nairobi Kenya!!Its a perfect place to visit as a family or a couple or a group. For bird watching enthusiasts and nature lovers. From the beautiful scenery and beautiful animals and birds. You have to experience it to know how amazing it is.
early morning safari, we were leaving our premicess by 6am, At the entrance canivores big cats lions
what i liked most was the convenience to reach the park from the capital city without to much long distance travel. by the way Nairobi itself is an attraction on its own. cool weather and other attraction sites from animal orphanage, museums, libraries full of history and much more from monuments of our fore fathers who fought for the independence. the road net work in the park is good even when it rains. i think buffalos here are much bigger and aggresive than the tsavo east one. ostriches of somali and masai origin can be found here often. antelops , baboons and many gaelles. unfortunate i could not see cats in the bush and its natural environment. but good work of a kws guide who was with us.
We started our tour from the hotel at Karen at 6am and reached there by 6.30am. It took $50 for entrance inside the park. We first saw a rhino crossing in front our van. Our driver Fred was excellent. He can smell the Lion. We saw the full lion family and so many zebra, giraffe and soooo many animals. I was so excited.
Only Nairobi offers a game park experience close to a major city, perfect for a day trip outing. No elephants, but plenty of other animals made the day delightful. I highly recommend visiting if you are on a limited schedule and cannot get to the other wonderful parks in Kenya.
Everyone who visit Kenya must see one of the National parks. This one is nexr to teh capital and one day trip is excellent idea.
We only visited the orphanage, but it was a good experience for the little ones. It's also a short tour which is good for them as well. Well worth the entry fee
For someone who doesn't have time to visit the whole country. You can just visit the national park at the next door in the capital of east Africa Metropolis
The park is large and it is very easy to find the animals. Since I was in Africa for the first time and on business purpose, I thought it wise to visit the park as time could not allow a visit to Masai Mara as recommended. The trails are easy short and guides were very good. The park is magical and full of surprises. Am glad I took this decision because it was very economical and refreshing.
